STAR WARS™ Episode I: Racer

I just bought it and try to run it on Mac OS X with Wine, and it works ! o/ All my childhood in this game ! Thank you so much GOG !!!

This thing took me about 2 hours to set up because there are so many crashes and you need to go to the discussions page in order to find the fixes that (mostly) work. Even with DirectX 10 installed, changing the resolution to my monitor's native resolution, and uninstalling/reinstalling my controller, there are still random crashes. This is a game that only sold because so many people were into the original game. That being said, the game is sooo much better with a gamepad instead of the N64 controller. If you're willing to take the time to set it up, then I'd get the game.

Title basically says it all. I can't say that its completely non-functional as sometimes, at random, it does work. I've been searching for a reliable PC release and this wasn't it. If you have a Switch, I suggest playing this game there instead.

This game plays just like I remember it and it feels like visiting an old friend. The sound effects and gameplay bring back so many fond memories. The game adapts pretty well to modern controllers. The graphics definitely look a bit dated by modern standards as this was meant to be played on an old CRT TV that helped to provide anti-aliasing, not a cristp 1080p+ monitor. It would be amazing with some graphics upgrade mods but so far I haven't found any. Regardless, the game still plays very well and it's well worth the price of admission, particularly if you ever played this growing up!

every godamn alien from different godamn planet speaks the same godamn language yet that lil' motherfucker annie doesn't make an effort to speak the universal alien racing language! No, mister chooses to stick to English. This isn't "Pod Racing" (as he would say), this is cultureal innapropriation! I'm outraged!
