Mediocre game with some fun

Game have very interesting story and characters, looks nice and its fun to play. However. RTS part is barebone basic. I would say that its even more simplistic then in Spellforce 1. Game is buggy, small bugs here and there, some major one as well, and with rare occasional crash during loading. Also my game crash during load into elven realm, after 12 hours of gameplay, 100% time, so I lost all my progress and would have to start again, I will definitely not. I do not recommend to buy, unless its with price tag under 10 Euro. So final verdict is "DO NOT BUY"

A underrated masterpiece

The environment and graphics are excellent, and the storyline and characters are equally strong. It truly feels like experiencing a new kind of Warcraft 3. I highly recommend it—I’ve completed the game, including the DLC, twice on Steam already.

Good game

The biggest flaw for me is all the changes in the lore and starying from the canon, it also have some balansing issues but only a few time, in general so is it a fun and interesting game with fun gameplay and good characters, its also one of the most beautiful games i have played, the creators really went an extra step for a world you really enjoy looking at.

Great story and voiceacting, bad gameplay

A lot about this game is very engaging and keeps me wanting to play more, the story is interesting and the voice acting is really great. The visuals are good, but inappropriate for an RTS in my opinion. I find what's happening in the screen quite confusing and a lot of the time I'm legitimately wondering who's attacking me and where despite having the red marker. Maybe the graphics and environments should have been more simplistic so that it's easier to figure out what's going on. The worst aspect is, by far, the gameplay. The RTS part is indeed unique, but I can safely say after 14.5h that I still don't understand how it works. I'm not a veteran of the RTS genre by any means, my reference points being Warcraft III and Age of Empires II and, compared to those, it doesn't come even close in terms of playability and intuition. The RPG part is OK, but I can't say I care about it too much, there's games that do it much better, like Divinity: Original Sin 2. I understand they're trying to do a mix, but I don't see the point. It doesn't feel like the mix of these two genres brings any advantage over having one or the other. I still recommend this game, though, it's pretty good.

I enjoyed my time

Put 65 hours into the campaign, i don't regret it. Could need a bit more polish though, i run into a few bugs and picked up a lot of misc items that i couldn't use except for selling them. However i do like the entire Spellforce franchise so i'am a bit biased :D.
