RollerCoaster Tycoon® 2: Triple Thrill Pack

As of this review, I don't own RCT2 or any of the expansions on GOG but I have owned the physical copies for years. That being said, let's get on with the review. RCT2 is a dynamic and innovative game in its own right for several reasons. The developers made the decision to master 2D graphics. Not only is there a great amount of detail but there are also almost no graphic glitches. The player can freely raise and lower ride tracks, paths and decorations. This greatly expands the player's creative freedom and allows for further immersion. A lot of these features were not seen until RCT2 came out. It is also a dynamic simulation. Every guest in your park has their happiness calculated. This adds an element of strategy. The player needs to find efficient places for shops and restrooms to keep the guests happy. In addition, strategic placement and pricing means more income from gift shops. If a guest is unhappy, they can go out of their way to make others miserable. This is countered through the well-balanced staff system. You need handymen to clean the park, mechanics to repair rides, guards to keep unruly guests under control, and entertainers to help guests stay happy. In addition, rides have values calculated to determine excitement, intensity, and how sick it may make a rider. This may seem complicated to some but the game is incredibly fun. There is a strong sense of satisfaction from completing a unique ride such as a roller coaster and watching how people interact with it. In addition, watching your park grow from a couple of rides to a full-fledged theme park is exciting. The scenarios add to the fun. The first expansion was slightly glitchy but was still a great addition to the game. However the second expansion was rushed. It adds the Atari logo to the game and has DRM on the physical copy. This isn't the problem, though. A lot of features were lacking and glitchy. Hopefully GOG patched these issues. This is why RCT2 TTP gets 4 stars, not 5. Buy it!

So this is a review of the soundtrack which I bought along with the game! Don't get me wrong; RCT2 is a fine game which I played extensively in the past. But I didn't even install this copy. I bought the GOG copy specifically for the "clean" soundtrack album. The price is cheap for an album. If you're a fan of Allister Brimble's music, this is the only way to buy these tracks in a "music" format without having to carefully extract and rename game files. While his famous theme for the first Rollercoaster Tycoon is not here (only in the RCT Deluxe soundtrack), there are many Brimble tracks here which are not in RCT21; apart from the main theme it contains every track in the RCT album. For me, the soundtrack alone was worth the purchase.

i still have the disc and the game is awesome. this one i really like like the 1st game. Also its addictive. TRUST ME. i like the fact that you can make a custom coaster and make realistic stations and support. + you get more rides/coasters. I highly recommend buying this. another good thing is sandbox and.. you guessed it! More scenarios! but theres 2 downsides :/. alot of the scenarios only let u get money by parks admissions instead of ride admission. Overall this is a great game with a slight drawback and hey nothings prefect. I also, again, recommend buying this. My rating ( though it doesnt let me give fractions) is 4.8 out of 5. Brilliant and very decent!

RTC 2 was and is a slightly smoother and better RCT 1 and one of the best simulations ever made. Even if you don't think you like simulations or if you think the old graphics might throw you off - give it a try! RTC 1 & 2 provided me with some of the best gaming experiences ever. They both are slightly different in some parts for example endless mode and objectives. First you will plan out your first rides, walkways and once greenfaced customers start messing up your beautiful clean park you will be organizing a cleaning squad. Have them pay no entry fee, double on rides, triple on food - when rain hits raise the price of your umbrella stands, sell balloons in all colors of the rainbow and when you win the main objective all those balloons will be let go into the sky. The pixel art still gets you after all those years and so does the cuteness of the visitors. The simulation options are very satisfying. This counts for both RCT 1 and 2 - the third part however could not hold up to the originals charm

The game crashes when you save, when you load and sometimes when you tab out of the game. On steam it seems fixable but not here. Sad, cause I really was hyped to play it again.
