Great Game. Great Survival Horror.
Firstly, I am heavily biased since I love this game, but I'll do my best to keep things neutral and objective. TLDR: Great game, some jank, I'd reccomend you try it. The puzzles are rewarding and the atmosphere is also great. Tbh, the most offputting thing to many may be the fixed camera angles. There will be a few times where this may be pesky, but it's worth it if you like everything else. Full Review: This first of all, for a first time playthrough, can actually be spooky. Not jumpscare spooky, but actaully fearing what's around the corner, what's next, budgeting your saves. All in all, giving you the "survival" in survival horror. The game effectively pulls this off without sacrificing other QoL features or breaking your immersion. This is absolutely cheesy in the best of ways too. The characters are likeable and, to an extent outside the cheese, believable. I like them, both protagonists are great, and this version of Jill IMO is one of the best. The gameplay itself is a mix between some combat, puzzle solving, and logical backtracking to solve said puzzles. Mapping out the environments, and figuring out how to progress. The game rewards cautious explorers the most. The music and sound design is also great, and only helps further deepen your immersion and amplify the moment you are in. This also abso-LUTELY has replayability potential. There are a good amount of achievemnts to hunt for, and some fun extra side modes. The only achievement that's gonna be a pain in the bum honestly is the knife only one. For the love of Jill-sandwiches please play as chris for that, he has extra knife damage. Don't make the same mistake I did. I don't want to spoil too much, but if your in for satisfying puzzles, well functioning tank controls, great atmosphere, great spooks, and replayability. This is a must have! So glad it's here now. Thanks GOG dudes!

Best Remake In Video Game History.
I first played Resident Evil Remake on my brother's ye ol' GameCube and enjoyed it, despite prefering RE2 & RE3 over the original 1996 release. Of all the remakes of the original Resident Evil trilogy, Resident Evil Remake is the best of the bunch. Same creepy B-movie atmosphere, same familiar story, same two playable protagonists, but now with a few new interesting plot twists, vastly improved* graphics, some challenging and clever new enemy types, some cool new change ups to the environmental puzzles, and support for modern gamepads. With Resident Evil "HD" Remake you also get widescreen support at 720p and higher! *The art style of RE1 Remake has aged like a fine wine. A great example of a clever art direction.
