Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs

An amazing debut from Pixelated Milk, featuring a refreshing, deep, and satisfying combat system. Honest old school design, without any tiresome grinding. Ι anxiously await their next game. Naturally, some obvious limitations are present, due to the fact that it's a small indie game studio's first game. The humor may sometimes appear to be off place and bonding with your followers and castle dwellers isn't on par with Bioware romances. But these are just minor issues, considering that Pixelated Milk delivered a robust and immensely fun combat system and an overall stable game, featuring many unique characters, and little details like a diplomacy system and various mini games. When i got this game for reviewing , i didn't know that it existed. A limited edition is now on its way from Poland, since this is an honest project and i really wanted to support the team personally. An enjoyable experience although not very challenging. It might be a bit rough around the edges but a solid core.

I must say I am sad to give this game only 2 stars. I bought the game and started it up and found myself really enjoying both the start and the beginning of the game, glad that I had made a good purchase I then closed the game to do other things and this is where the problem begins. After returning to continue my game I found that the loading screen before the menu would just keep going. Having left the game on for half and hour just to make sure the problem wasnt just the game being slow to load which by no means would have been the end of the world for me I then tried to get help by submitting a report to the bug forum hoping that either a developer or other player would be able to help me, that was in may and no one has even bothered to reply to me in that time. So to summerize I really loved the idea of building up the town and recruiting people to your party and having a good story but due to a game breaking bug that I cant fix I will never be able to actually play and enjoy the game and can therefore not recommend it either which is a shame because I would like to seem more games of this type being made.

I'll start off by saying that I think the game is worth its money and will entertain you for a good amount of time. It's biggest strength is the gameplay in the tactical battles and the variety of characters you get to play with. The presentation overall is nice to look at and the music is great too, voice acting is a bit hit and miss and the writing relies a bit too much on references for my tastes.

Great told story, lots of funny lines and interesting charachters. The fighting is chalanging and for one of the few times it really matters wich characters you take in with you on what adventure. Overall a great game and I would love to give it five Stars, If id woldn't bee for that good for nothing negotiations. They are just anoying. It takes foreever And in the end you can only guess the right answers because the most are more ore less the same, so you will have to play a negotiatipon over and over again, until you find out how do fix it. Don't know what the developers where thinking by this peace of cow shit on an otherwise shining jewel like Regalia
