Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs

I didn't expect too much going in, but damn...I was really hooked after the first few hours (currently around 50 and still not finished). The game is amazing, not perfect obviously, but very VERY much worth the money and a steal while discounted. Let’s get the BAD out of the way... only 2 complaints that I can really mention: one is that the campaign is based on a timer and while it makes perfect sense in the lore, it’s still annoying for me and I'm sure others. Second thing is, of course game balance...for a first game from a tiny team its actually quite good, but it really depends how good you are at tactical games like this...I'm bad at them and I find this game quite easy, so just don't expect some big challenge. Sure, there might be other nitpicks that some more “entitled” players complain about like “omg you have a 2 second loading screen” when the game transitions from one screen to another…but come the F on…I swear people complain about the most insignificant sht…ugh. Other than that the game is outstanding: Story is ok, but the characters really makes it shine, all of them are well voice acted (not fully, there is a lot of text in between cutscenes) , the humor is excellent, lighthearted and yet very well written and with a dose of self-awareness that I love. Music is great and sounds in general are really good, with things like attacks sounds sounding very powerful. Graphics are beautiful, hand drawn art tho animations are a bit "simple". Big one is COMBAT/Gameplay of course and I’m having a ton of fun with it. There are a ton of characters each very different (in both their abilities and personality) and combining them will lead to different playstyles with a lot of “combos” to kill enemies way faster than they can kill you. On top of that you have a light kingdom/character-reputation building game in between the combat, where you upgrade buildings and build relationships with characters. So yeah, overall, I love it and highly recommend buying it.

The city building elements could have been better, but the characters and tactics RPG elements are fun. You are rebuilding your kingdom and need to repay an ancestral debt by exploring and treasure hunting. If you like tactics RPGs, this wil be an enjoyable game. Definitely recommend playing.

I'm running ubuntu 18.04 and this game is a nightmare to run. Trying to run it in lower details, different resolution, windowed mode. It either refuses to start (most of the time!) or freezes somewhere in a mission. To make it more frustrating, this game *DOESN'T LET YOU SAVE ANYWHERE* so when it crashes/freezes, you're back to last save. Could be due to intel integrated graphics, but the graphics of this game does not justify any need for anything more than the i5 built in graphics - text is blury, characters 2d hand drawn(quite pretty!) - it really looks like many of the old flash based browser games.

In short: I LOVE this game, the humor is cringy the characters somewhat cliché and it has some minor issues here and there, some design decisions you might not like (no grinding, everyone has the same level, each character has only 4 skills that can only be slightly changed with upgrades) but its cast is unbelievably charming and the gameplay is enjoyable all the same. It took me 25 hours to beat the game but I will surely come back to it some time or another to do things differently ( talk to other characters, go to other parts of the map, change my diplomatic standings and so on) so its definetely worth its price.

There are lot of text split into chunks and you cann't just read it in one peace. You need resources and they are gathered in "dungeons" and the only thing you do there - die. Battle system is unbalanced and weird and you thrown right against enemies having about 5 levels above you. It also about time and the only thing you do with it is wasting: leave dungeon prematurely and you lost all the days for explore it. Relations... they provide almost nothing for you except wasting time. And loading screens - they everywhere, they wait you after almost any click.
