Raiden Legacy

As others have mentioned, quality shmups on a PC is something you have look pretty hard for. They're out there, and Raiden Legacy just added itself to the collection. You've read the game description so you'll know it offers four Raiden games, each excellent in its own right. The interface is easy to use and I didn't encounter any bugs. That being said, the games all suffer the same flaws. Namely, there is no leadboard and the only high score you can see, the one at the top center while you're playing, resets when ever you quit. This really sucks because leadboards are what shmups are all about (well most of them anyway) and to remove that feature is pretty harsh and stupid as well. What you do get are random 'achievements' that mean nothing at all. You also can't change how many credits you get (1 extra only) so good luck finishing the game. Yeah, I give this a thumbs up, but don't expect the full package, the developers/who left out some important features that are going to make you tear your hair out .

As much as I love these games, the emulation is abysmal. Find them elsewehere.

Game runs way too fast. Certain bullets are too fast to dogde. I had no problems with raiden 3, the game runs like it should. But all the games in this collection are double time. The games behind the broken emulation seem to be fun. Good music and grafic effects, fun gameplay. Please fix the speed issue. Thanks for reading, have a nice day

I love Raiden on many of its ports, but not this one. -The Menu Screen Freezes and threatens to crash the PC. -Raiden: When you die, the player-plane does not appear when the game fist resumes. -Raiden: Game control and graphics do not seem like the same quality as other ports. -Raiden Fighters 2 works well. -Raiden Jets works well. -I have not tested Raiden Fighters 1. Summary: This game was on sale, so maybe it is worth $2.00. However, several players have reported the frozen menu screen, so part of me wishes someone would either fix the menu screen or stop selling a defective game.

The menus are a bit laggy. It would be nice to have unlimited credits.
