Project Warlock

Lately I've run into a lot of bad luck. Bought Red Dead 2; it turned out to be a buggy mess. I shelved it. Bought Cthulu. It holds your hand so much it's boring. Shelved it. Now I got Warlock, and you can't even save during levels, only after levels like a flight simulator. Also which key to hit to level up is a total mystery; it's not even listed in the keyboard commands in options. Uninstalling. Wasted a lot of money this weekend.

While I appreciathe the developer's attempt to bring us a cool retro game (think Doom or Wolfenstein), Project Warlock ist just way too difficult, even on easy level. What's even worse: It doesn't allow you to save, if you die you have to repeat the whole level. In 2018 this is just no way to release and play a game. I will wait until the devs implement a quicksave function. Until then, I will uninstall PW and play other games.

Well this game was ok, not great but ok, sometimes a bit unfair and with no free saving. Came a few months later back to play it again and woosh, savegame gone. Googled a bit, and this game saves via registry and my save seems gone, killed the rest of the fun on the way. Disappointing

This one certainly brings back memories from the good old day. Good action and i also find it refreshing the way that both "normal" and "hard" difficulty uses a kind of permadeath if you run out of lives.

I've just played about 2 hours of the game so far and I'm in love with the overall feel of the game. The spells, magic, and mana give this game a Hexen type feel to the game. The grunting and suddle motherf*cker voice lines give it a Duke Nukem feeling. For the hacking and slashing, mixed with a bit of fire and juicy bloody particles, give it a Blood like gameplay. Finally, the explosions, zombies, powerful badass guns with different upgrades make it feel like the new Doom (2016), while still keeping that nostalgic classic Doom with a hint of Quake (1996) lurking through the cracks. This game definitely has a lot of potential and I can see it becoming another great instant classic that will maybe sit along side the classics one day.
