Holy f-ing s--t... what did I just play?
What a masterpiece. Game journalists don't know anything. This is arguably one of the best games out there. If you haven't played it already, you should. This is one of the darkest games ever made. It blends isometric top-down shooter action with horror elements. The story is chilling, and so is the whole artstyle. Play this in the dark whenever you can. The Postal Dude is one of the most interesting protagonists in video game history. His story is one of the best parts of the whole game. And that ending... wow. Just- just play it. Seriously. PLAY IT.

Some people are just too harsh.
Yeah if you'd just bought Postal for the same price as a PS3 game then you've got a right to whinge about how 2D it is. But let's face it, it's like £5 (Or exactly $5.99 for the U.S) and while yes, £5 is a lot more than $6 in terms of face value, but still. For a fiver you can get a fun little game that's just about having a daft laugh. I've always hated GTA because all I end off doing is running around killing and that gets boring on a grand scale, but this, is tiny and has a select number of guys and gals to kill. Which keeps it fresh, it's also got some funny moments, like "Blessed the meek, for they are easy to kill!". So my final verdict, for a fiver you can do A LOT worse. But for that fiver you're getting some harmless mindless fun set over 21 levels. You're also getting a 16 player multiplayer mode and level editor, 9 sweet weapons and a great time killer.

Pure mindless violent fun
Postal has no pretense of depth in any way. It knows what it is and boasts of it: an assault of continuous, gruesome violence and carnage, bolstered by many loud, painful and messy ways to kill and die. It's not the kind of game that will immerse you for months, but it certainly is the kind of game that will make you laugh out loud at the same time as give you a twinge of guilt for enjoying such brutality.

violently funny
I've always heard about Postal series, but i've never played it. So, finding the Running w.s. catalogue on GOG I gave it a try. The game is really dated (more dated than Syndicate, for example) and controls are not easy. The gaming mechanism is simple and straight, and funny indeed. Evil fun, maybe, but I agree with the quote "computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music". Postal, six years after its release, still offers 20-30 minutes of mere fun without head-aching enigmas, invulnerable monsters and so on. I can't play it for more than twenty minutes, cause it becomes boring, but the game deserves a try.
