POSTAL: Classic and Uncut

Playing this as a person from the USA nowadays is just a freaky time, man. RWS updated the controls a while back, they're a ton better now. This game's all kinds of screwed up. Definitely a distinct art style and disturbing tone, an interesting experiment from the then young RWS. Shame they never made any more games like this, but it is absolutely though just a game about a mass shooter going on a rampage. It's a disgusting game from days long behind us, but the kind of disgusting media that should be preserved, never glorified. If you're a fan of Postal 2/4/Brain Damaged and the more wacky take on the Dude, you might be surprised at his humble origins in this game. Play Postal at least once, that's all I've got to say about it. Be warned, the noise this game plays starting up is loud as hell, it actually startled me a few times. There's a good remaster of this game on Unreal called Postal Redux, but it isn't on GOG.

Postal has no pretense of depth in any way. It knows what it is and boasts of it: an assault of continuous, gruesome violence and carnage, bolstered by many loud, painful and messy ways to kill and die. It's not the kind of game that will immerse you for months, but it certainly is the kind of game that will make you laugh out loud at the same time as give you a twinge of guilt for enjoying such brutality.

stressed out? got pissed of by the real world community? got a parking ticket? irritated by unwanted rally's ?? load up postal and grab a gun on the map its time to mow down those simpletons there is no rules just kill anyone who can shoot at ya m/ although the game controls can take some time getting used its simply masterful considering the items and weapons you get to use in this game rest assured its a great stress buster ps:- load up and grenades and a rocket launcher and when you see people moving in a group its time to score a home run :P play the uncut version for the real feel of postal and to understand why its loved and hated :)

The moment I saw this game I decided to give it a try so I forked over R100 ($10) but due to internet speeds in south Africa it was a useless purchase although I found a fast enough internet source it said error in chunk 1 but I played it on a friends pc and I highly recommend papers please instead of this. Its cheaper and more fun

I've always heard about Postal series, but i've never played it. So, finding the Running w.s. catalogue on GOG I gave it a try. The game is really dated (more dated than Syndicate, for example) and controls are not easy. The gaming mechanism is simple and straight, and funny indeed. Evil fun, maybe, but I agree with the quote "computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music". Postal, six years after its release, still offers 20-30 minutes of mere fun without head-aching enigmas, invulnerable monsters and so on. I can't play it for more than twenty minutes, cause it becomes boring, but the game deserves a try.
