POD Gold

Thanks to GOG ! This full version of Planet of Death, alias POD, works very good with Windows 7 x64 (i7 750 QM, GT 425M). No bugs, no crashes, perfect ! Only one problem, which is not one: there's only one choosable language. The game doesn't need a good english, but a french version would be better for me. Anyway, I enjoy a lot to replay this game which is one of my favourite. Only $6 to play POD in optimal conditions with the newest version of Windows, that's the dream !

The game is funny and most of the tracks are real suggestive. It's an arcade, but this not means it's an easy challenge! You have to learn how to modify your car values (grip, speed etc.) for each situation, to learn well the tracks, to avoid crashes if you want to win something in this game at non-easy level. I just won my first championship... but I want to play again!

How cool is that? P.O.D working now on modern computers. Feels like im dead and in heaven ;) Big thanks to the guys who made the nGlide wrapper so i can play this game on my 47" screen without a off-centered picture. I Just Love this game. A plain racing game set in a futuristic enviroment with the option to tweak the basic dependencies of your choosen car. Sounds simple and it is indeed. BUT: It never gets boring (at least not for me) and lets you jump right into the race of your choice without the hassle to qualify for a specific track first or such crap. If you like instant racing action, then go and get this one! I still remember when i had a demo of the game with the first racing track and i played it over and over and over again. Well... and now i own the full game for a fraction of what it would've cost back in the days.. makes me feel old but its also a nice reminder ;) There is only one problem i have so far.. I can't save the championships.. maybe its just me but who cares.. i'll just drive any track i want XD

It's easy to immerse yourself in the game and it demands your attention 100%. I bought it originally when it was published in 1997 and still plays it. Great value for money.

This was definitely my favorite racing game when i was a kid but when we got a newer comp i couldnt play the game due to compatibility issue. but this version lets me play it on my windows 7 pc again. very pleased witht his game.
