Pillars of Eternity: Hero Edition

Finally, we, fans of BG, received something good in our names. Pillars of Eternity is by far the best RPG that we've acquired in years. Sorry, but I'm voting in it as the best 2015 RPG. Witcher 3? No, thanks. Of course, I'm saying that by judging the game by all I've seen until now: an excellent story, excellent companions and billions of voice-acted dialogues: most of them have voices. The sceneries are extremely beautiful and loaded with references of the old Infinity Engine games, the battle system is challenging and has very good mechanics (the bard's mechanic is amazing). THIS is what we've been waiting for. An ascension for our so beloved old RPGs. Thanks, Obsidian. You've won one more time.

A setting like Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale with a modernized infinity engine style gameplay and the writing of Planescape: Torment. It's like everything Bioware did in their hayday rolled into one awesome game backed by thousands of fans. Yet another positive review 5/5 and all that- but really, it's 100% legit. Amazing game, do yourself a huge favor and get it, you will not regret this purchase! The attention to detail, voice acting, heck, everything about this game is 100% pure solid gold. I haven't been this engrossed in an RPG in over a decade. The cRPG lives on, and it's called Pillars of Eternity.

A true spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate, PoE has a great story, epic music, several towns, and recruitable companions that grow and reveal things as you travel and more. The only real downside is that the Party AI is near non-existent and brain dead.

I have only been playing for a few hours and WOW. I have not played a game like this since Baldurs Gate and Icewind Dale. Very nice graphics for todays RPGs, the story is so rich and keeps you wanting more, its not just about the combat, it actually has a deep story. Most of the conversations i had so far had voice acting which is refreshing since most of the new RPGs coming out lately done so cheaply. This game tops it again and i think this game is a jewel and will make its mark in the gaming industry. I would recommend this game very highly to anyone who enjoyed games like Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights and Planescape: Torment. It has a deep enriching story for any real ROLE PLAYING gamers. Then combat is very nicely done, character creation very deep, back story very nice for the characters. Lots of modes to choose from for difficulty, iron mode etc. Journal is so nicely done to keep track of quests, Cyclopedia consisting of Bestiary, Afflictions and Injuries, Character Stats, Combat Mechanics, Deities and Equipment. You can even create your own notes. The game is stable and i have not had any bugs or crashes YET, lol. For a game that started as a kickstarter project i can definitely say they show other established developers and publishers how its done. A Definite buy for any RPG gamer. This game is simply fun, if you enjoy this type of game. You will be pausing the game in combat to give directions to your party members, on any difficulty level, and there is reading, much of it optional. So, expect that. But if, like me, you enjoyed Baldur's Gate etc, back when they were released, but find them too stodgy to play now, you'll love this game. They way they've modernized the game is pure genius. The laboriousness is gone and the game is just pure enjoyment. They've take classes that were difficult to play, or that were only useful after you leveled them up, and made them viable and fun to play from level one. Good examples of this are the paladin and the bard, now called chanter. I could go on and on, but the best thing I can say is that it's just pure enjoyment; 99.9% bug free, too.
