Pillars of Eternity: Hero Edition

Great game!

Make no mistake, despite this being yet another carbon copy weebstick and magic game, it offers depth not only in plot related decisions, but also in combat and build variety. (after you've installed a mod to fix the guns.) The AI for party members, while simplistic, is functional, something those owlcat morons couldn't achieve if they had 5 lifetimes. As far as Iso RPGs go, this one plays like the best. ISO RPGs rely heavily on story telling elements, and in this case it is unfortunate, since most of the writing seems to have been done by someone with the intelligence of Terrence Howard......(he preaches that 1x1=2 for example, and that molecules are bi-sexual) While some of the concepts are interesting, the non-stop in your face spirituality crap is preachy to the point of detracting from the overall experience.

Infinity Engine games hold most of my fondest gaming memories. Pillars felt like returning home after being many years absent to find it only got better while you were away. Brilliant.

I think everything I wanted to say has already been said. Absolutely fabulous game, best I have played in 10 or more years. If I could give it 10 out of 5 stars I would, POE, surpasses all of my expectations. It's just, just, just wonderful. You get lost in time when playing.

Great old-school game with great writing, a lot of choice and all the great stuff you'd expect from a real rpg.
