Rich stories. FemPro is a bit too much
This game inherited the story-rich characteristic of its predecessor in that you can satisfactorily experience well-written stories, both in the plot and in the description of many items. The OST, although not bad at all, is not as excellent as the previous game. To me, the most regrettable thing is that the developers decided to go with the "Female Protagnist" way in this game. It is straightforwardly tagged with such a tag, after all, so I guess there isn't much to complain about in this repect. But I hope they would make such an ideology an option which players can enable/disable should they decide to develop Pillar of Eternity 3.

Lack or camera rotation wrecks this game
The developers and marketeers responsible for making the decision to minimise on 3D map design - preventing camera rotation should have advertised this up-front. At least that would have been honest, even if mistaken.

Does not measure up to the IE classics.
I did not find the setting, universe, plot or characters all that interesting, however that's really a bit irrelevant, as a game can be enjoyed despite its setting, its universe, its plot and its characters, as long as it is fun to play. But Pillars of Eternity II, much like the first game - though not quite to the same extent - is not enjoyable or fun to play for me. It all comes down to the mechanics and gameplay. It may look similar to the old IE classics mechanically and gameplaywise, but that would be a very shallow assessment. I did not enjoy them, but others will I'm sure - can't please everyone and all that.

Haters Gonna Hate
It seems people just want to give this game one star ratings because of its success. I think everyones capable of making up their own minds but to give a one just for the sake of bugs or no mac support is a tad bit strange. Don't listen to the hate, try it out for yourself if you like a deep RPG experience from the older days. Many complain about the stories openness and large amount of side content that takes you away from chasing Eothas. Which if you played the first you'd have the knowledge of who this dude is, your not chasing to kill or really chasing at all. If you enjoy roleplaying your character in many different ways with choices that matter to who that character is and will become this is righ up your alley. I think many have forgotten about how much side content was in baulders gate 1 & 2 that took you far away from the main Lord of Murder story arc, which could be argued as a bit more of an immidiate threat then finding out why this god has risen. However, you can't take away from the fact of how much this game does have to offer for the CRPG genre and RPGs in general. Countless hours to get lost in which ever direction you choose, countless character builds, more and more updates to come, free dlc. I do wish maybe a few more companions and im not to biggest of a fan of the Storm of Zehir topical map for exploring but it still works out pretty well for the setting. The islands and locations though are pretty fantastic once your actually in the game.
