Beautifully rendered scenery that never gets old; sprawling cities, so huge one can easily get lost. Exploration is rewarded with puzzling details. Combat is easily handled with an XBox 360 controller. This action adventure is marred only by irritating arguments between Cutter Slade and Marion Wolfe. There are some loose ends that are left untied, and the ending, that you fight so hard to finally get to, plays out with little interaction on the gamer's part, much too quickly. Replayed the game one month ago to refresh my memory for Outcast: A New Beginning - and it still shines as the polished version of a gaming milestone. Yes, it's clunky by today's standards, but it's also impressive in many ways. Atmosphere, music, immersiveness of the world (and Cutter's German voice actor): still epic and worth a try.

As you will read in the reviews here, this is a remake of the first outcast. The first one was way ahead of its time with interesting and exciting vocel graphics. This is the better game though, so get this one if the setting and story appeals to you. Sometimes it goes really cheap on discount which makes it a no-brainer purchase but even full price it is worth it.

Forget the discussion about remake vs classic. Today, you have the opportunity to play a game with the best atmosphere that I enjoyed. Freedom of movement in an open world, a very rich story and a tremendous dynamic soundtrack. It's all about how you feel being part of a story and this one feels really extraordinary.

A dream coming true! The original game, the original story but with sooo much better graphics. The games exactly hits the atmosphere of the original game. Nearly 20 years later, it is so much fun to visit Adelpha again... thanks to the devoper and GOG to support this master piece of early open wolrd game play.
