Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.

In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.

Now including...

Play with all major updates since launch: Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, the 2.0 BEYOND update, Synthesis, Living Ship, Exo Mech, Desolation and the 3.0 update, ORIGINS, Next Generation, Companions, Expeditions, Prisms, Frontiers, Sentinel, Outlaws, Endurance, Waypoint (4.0), Fractal, Interceptor, Echoes, Omega, Orbital, Worlds Part I (5.0), Worlds Part II, Relics, Beacon and VOYAGERS (6.0).

And now with added Cross-Save! No Man’s Sky now supports Cross-Play and Cross-Save between a huge number of platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox One and Series X/S, Game Pass, GOG, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, PlayStation VR 1 & 2 and PCVR.

Available for PC and Mac (see recommended and minimum specs for details).

An epic voyage to the centre of a shared universe awaits, allowing you to explore, trade, fight and survive alone or with friends.

Embark on an epic voyage

At the centre of the galaxy lies an irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.

Find your own destiny

Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.

Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.

Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.

Share your journey

The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

Even more complicated than ever

The last time I played the game, was some years ago, when it had just came out, and was a couple months old. The game was fun, but clunky at times. When modding support was available, it became much, much better, yet not perfect. I came back to the game, hyped to read about all the new upgrades, and all the new functions like base building, and was hyped, completely. That quickly turned to disappointment. You can become a rich person in no time by just harvesting the regrowing resources, and the Devs know. So they bottlenecked the most important thing: upgrades. All upgrades need to be crafted, or bought. But the issue is, you need blueprints to do so. I played a version, where you could craft, if you had the resources, that was how the old game was. And it was tons of fun. Now, I sunk about 20h into the "new game" and hate it. You cant craft what you need, your suit runs out of power quicker than anything, and the bottlenecks are the only thing limiting me from playing this game the way it was. It's like putting a cork into the exhaust of a top end sports car. You can start the engine, but it will start to drown and fail, grinding to a halt, after a while, because the exhaust gasses cant leave. Thats exactly how it feels. You are getting hyped for new planets, new things, no exploration, but the bottleneck does not allow it to leave at a pace where you are having fun, instead it swings to frustration. So no. The biggest fail purchase I ever made, since the original game was so good, and now, the bottlenecks have ruined the "old school" experience. It could have been fun for 300h like the last time, but not like this. Shame on the Devs for not only beating a dead horse, but also for putting in bottlenecks in an effort to keep people playing the game for longer. I have played games that were speedrun-finished in 10h and had more fun with them, than with this newest update.

Worthwile, mostly bugfree

IDK how it used to be, but the bug-situation feels minor now, and it's an overall fun and worthwile game. Recommend waiting for half price. I becomes tired of games very quickly and this one lasted a good while!

Still flawed, but very interesting

TLDR - Exploration game where you can fly in space and build bases with bits of "trading" included. Everyone knows about how Hello Games botched the launch, but they came around, they did not abandon the game nor the playerbase, the game received a large update just a few days ago from the writing of this review. If you haven't yet, go see the Internet Historian's "Engoodening of No Man's Sky", it's excellent stuff. On the game proper -> The game is all about exploration and, to a lesser degree, building a base. Exploring got a lot more interesting with the latest update, as it added significant and much needed variety to planets and their flora and fauna. Lots of them don't make much evolutionary sense, but others are really interesting. My main complaints are regarding combat and trading. For combat, there are 3 ground enemy types and that's it. They're like a "police" of the worlds and will leave you alone if you can evade them. They are only dangerous if you don't have a Scatter Blaster (shotgun) or Plasma Launcher. In space, there is zero variety in ship to ship combat. Every ship you fight is exactly the same. Shoot it head on and it'll stop attacking you, barreling to "avoid" fire. No differences in maneuverability, speed, size, weakness or shield strength. Trading as a whole doesn't make any sense because you can carry more stuff on your backpack than a class B ship and freighter combined. Also, the teleport network means that great profits are a loading screen away from you. Each system is fully devoted to one type of thing (energy, mining, trade goods, etc) so every planet on that system will sell the same stuff and those things are used for nothing but profits outside the system. No hints of cities or anything remotely similar to them anywhere. Where is stuff produced? Where do the aliens live? Despite all this, I'm enjoying the game because I understand that exploration is the focus here and exploring can be satisfying.

Great idea, poor execution

I love the idea behind this game: an infinitely iterating universe in which you choose your own path and make your own story. But in my 10-15 hours of gameplay, I found the game tedious, boring, and empty. In fact, I almost quit in the first 20 minutes when just keeping my guy alive was a challenge. Anyhow, there are some interesting elements involving crafting, construction, and exploration. But it all just merges into a single, long grind for slightly better materials and stuff with which to survive. I assume that if you stick with the game long enough, you might come across some NPCs or settlements somewhere, but until then, the loneliness of the game and the need to run between shelters and collect stuff all the time just ruined it for me. If you can get the game at a steep discount (like $10-15), then go for it if you want to try it out (the game really needs a demo). I didn't encounter any noticeable bugs in the version that I played, though I really did not explore more than 2 planets. However, be warned that the game is very slowly paced and will require a degree of commitment, time, and patience that I do not think that most people have to devote to a video game.
