Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.

Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.

Now including...

Play with all major updates since launch: Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, the 2.0 BEYOND update, Synthesis, Living Ship, Exo Mech, Desolation and the 3.0 update, ORIGINS, Next Generation, Companions, Expeditions, Prisms, Frontiers, Sentinel, Outlaws, Endurance, Waypoint (4.0), Fractal, Interceptor, Echoes, Omega, Orbital, Worlds Part I (5.0), Worlds Part II, Relics, Beacon and VOYAGERS (6.0).

And now with added Cross-Save! No Man’s Sky now supports Cross-Play and Cross-Save between a huge number of platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox One and Series X/S, Game Pass, GOG, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, PlayStation VR 1 & 2 and PCVR.

Available for PC and Mac (see recommended and minimum specs for details).

An epic voyage to the centre of a shared universe awaits, allowing you to explore, trade, fight and survive alone or with friends.

Embark on an epic voyage

At the centre of the galaxy lies an irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.

Find your own destiny

Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.

Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.

Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.

Share your journey

The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

Solid core loop, tiresome exploration

No Man's Sky provides a solidly enjoyable core gameplay loop, in which you explore, gather, trade, and build to improve your character and suit, your tools, your vehicles, ships and freighter, and your income. The game is feature-packed, and beyond its base of exploration, mining, upgrading, and trade, it includes: substantial base building; multiple vehicle types aside from your ship, each with upgrades of their own; large freighters with fleets to manage and send on expeditions; a minor companion adoption feature; and newly added, still minor, settlement management. A major downside is that the exploration, by itself, is lackluster. Each planet is the same along its surface, and you'll likely have seen it all upon first landing. There is little variety of fauna and flora both within a given planet and in between planets, and these are haphazardly spread across each planet. You may, once in a while, find an interesting looking species that you'd like to adopt as a companion, but scanning fauna and flora is usually a menial task you do for the monetary rewards it provides, or for completion's sake. Similarly, landmarks and objects of interest quickly become repetitive, and few provide boons that are useful beyond the early game. The combat mechanics are merely acceptable. Fauna is non-threatening and disinteresting, even when preying on you; sentinels are repetitive and likewise easy to dispatch; biological horrors are a slight threat to the unprepared, but nonetheless a glitchy single type of creature with looks that don't fit the name. Most of the enjoyment is in the core upgrading loop and the features mentioned in the first paragraph; these should keep you engaged for satisfying hours upon hours as you acquire upgrades for your tools and ship, build a base on a particularly beautiful planet, and, for example, establish mineral mining facilities to provide income with which you purchase new exotic ships or capital freighters, and expand frigate fleets.

Starting out rather bad, it has now become more than worth the price!

Now a great game

At launch and for a while after this game was a nightmare due to bugs, crashes and performance issues. Now it is truly a wonderful game experience. If you like exploring games this is a true gem thanks to devs not only fixing the issues but also several big updates. I highly recommend it.

Perpetual Beta Build

I would like to write a glorifying review about every detail that makes other game pale in comparison, but sadly the game feels unfinished. A game in 2022, that was put out in 2016. Games take a while to be developed, but the game was already worked on before 2016, in order to be released then. A few points to look at before you buy this: 1) It will disappoint you if you expect anything like a Star Wars - Mos Eisley bustling town experience. At the most, you can find a small settlement that is poorly cosmetic. If you find such a small settlement, the best you can do is look around and realise just how dead everything is. It just feels so lifeless. 2) No motivating factors. Apart from immediately not dying at the beginning, the game does not have the player character, nor the NPCs do literally anything that would be logical. As a result, it feels dead and lifeless(see the trend?) 3) Clipping. As in, EVERYTHING will walk through walls and other barriers and even stuff trying to kill your character. The collision in the game is truly terrible. Plus the ability to hit you from 10-15feet away with a melee attack is really absurd. Ex; Hostile plants can do this. Anything can seemingly do this, but plants are especially bothersome. 4) Permadeath is a great idea. But problematic if you take #3 into account. 5) Space craft while planet side, won't allow reverse thrust or hovering. You can just crash for no good reason. You can traverse hyperspace, but hovering in place or going in reverse? Nope! Why? I dunno, seems pretty dumb anyone would not want this. Reminds me of driverless cars first being built and having the "Do not run over people" be optional.(yes, this actually was a thing) My main gripe, is the lack of motivational factors. Nobody eats, drinks(recharges batteries if a robot) nor sleeps(stasis recharge;robots). Because of this, you have no reason to fight for a resource you don't need. Animals mostly are the same. It needs these. Its all cosmetic at best.

Wide as a galaxy, shallow as a puddle

There are lots of things to do in this game, but none of them matter. The journey is the destination and you make your own fun. Some find it boring, some find it deep, but I found it entertaining...for a time. Then I found it boring. Also their UI is looks and feels like it was desinged for a mobile app. Yuck.
