Bards sing tales of heroes in ages past, but they rarely mention those that are yet to become heroes. One such hero is a farmer in the small village of West Harbor. Raised by the elven ranger, Daeghun, as his own child, our hero will embark on a grandiose quest against the King of Shadows. Neverwinter Nights 2 is the tale of his deeds. His adventures continue in Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer. Our protagonist discovers that an ominous spell has fallen on him. A curse of perpetual hunger--one which can only be quelled by consuming the souls of spirits. In order to remove the curse, he has to travel to the Shadow Realm, which harbors dark secrets and tormented souls.
Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir gives as a breather from grand quests of destiny and epic ordeals. You simply assemble a group of four adventurers (either by carefully picking out each of their statistics and skills or by randomly re-rolling your characters until you find the ones that suit you) and go where the wind takes you. Just make sure to get a good look at the map as you will need it to explore the wide open region of Samarach and the Sword Coast. Then, yet another adventure: in an ancient and forgotten tomb you found an unusual mask. It made you quite powerful but changed your life into a living nightmare. Strange, terrifying visions torment your psyche. Every time you try to get rid of the accursed mask, it secretly makes its way back to you. There's just one solution: set sail for Westgate and discover the secret of the Night Masks in Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate.

Just play Mask of The Betrayer
Original: Look, a long a boring campaign! A bad camera! Uninteresting companions, except for Sand! Grindfest deluxe! 2/5 Mask of The Betrayer: Whoa... Someone smoked kush before writing the story of this one. Great game featuring strange but original Spirit Eater mechanic. Great writing and atmosphere. 4/5 Storm of Zehir: Very sozzy. 3/5

One of the best RPG games ever made !
There is not much I can add that haven't been mentioned here. Neverwinter Nights 2 is definitely a must play RPG, it suffers from very little shortcomings and its a bad we don't have a successor.

Epic yet unplayable
Neverwinter nights 2 is one of the best dungeons and dragons video games ever published. I highly recomend giving this game a try. That sead. BE prepaired to spend time looking for grafic bug fixes and patching the game yourself. GOG has neglected to sell a playable product off the line. Waiting for a fix or a refund. Time will tell.

Great game ruined by bugs.
Great game marred by bugs. I would give it a 3.5 if I could, but settled on 4 because of the quality of the expansions. Pros: - DnD setting is always a plus. - Good companions for the most part. - Good story. - Fun combat though a bit chaotic and not extremely difficult. - Huge variety of classes the PC can choose from. - Good graphics for its time. - No problems running on Win10, your millage may vary. Cons: - Clunky default camera controls that can be fixed with some options fiddling. - VERY buggy. One EXTREMELY annoying example, I had to restart a boss fight a total of 3 times because of glitches. Without spoilers, the boss summons a creature that you are supposed to kill to conclude the boss fight. He did not summon that creature three times in a row, causing me to be stuck in the boss arena. Only after googling how I was supposed to beat him did I realize that there was glitch happening in the first place. The only way to fix it was to brute force reload until he summoned the creature. Very tedious and immersion breaking in what was supposed to be an epic and suspenseful scene. - Influence system for companions can be annoying at times. - Some graphics options like changing resolution can result in black screens, though there are workarounds to this.
