The Best PC Game Ever, That Used FMV

Released in 1995. 24 years ago. Now I've never been a fan of PC games that used FMV, Full Motion Video. To me, the acting was always subpar, as it was hard to find any actors with high credentials who would risk putting themselves into a PC game, so the FMV, when it came to acting, would therefore break any immersion that was being built. But give credit to Legend Entertainment, who was known at the time for being the innovative edge when it came to video games, they pulled this off and I would have to say, ended up being the best PC game ever, that used FMV, Full Motion Video, even when rated against any games, even the more recent ones, that have tried using it. The plot is perfect, the puzzles, or dilemmas faced by the main character who you will play are real to the situations involved, and never will you find yourself with an odd set of strange forms twisting them to fit into some sort of illogical puzzle game in order to proceed. The problems you'll face are those you would if you really were left behind on a starship with certain tasks left to you. The backdrop to the story you find yourself in slowly unfolds as you progress. Science saving the world, sort of. To me science is just reverse engineering of all things created, then imitating that which has been reverse engineered. Of course that means there has to be a Creator, which doesn't fit well with science. But the story is thought provoking nonetheless, as well as exciting. If you missed this one, grab it and try it out. One of the few games that made FMV legitimate. https://youtu.be/LNqBxK1ldEQ

One of the best adventures ever made

I saw very positive review of this as kid and always wanted to play this. Now decades I later stumbled into it and played it through and so glad I did. Man. I wasn't expecting game to be this good, few points. First the setting and ambiance is just perfect when you start game at derelict space ship solving puzzles related into it and opening the general plot meantime. Second was that the puzzles are generally speaking very realistic and interesting especially at the start. You need to fix stuff, navigate alive through reactor compartments with geiger counter and figure out what is safe area to enter, do strategy space battle that's like different game and it's made optional if strategy isn't your thing. Third. If you like Star Trek it's bit like going through good episode or season maybe (Your captain is "Worf" btw). End parts plot goes quite wild with it's ideas. It wasn't 100% my cup of tea, just bit too abstract for me), but plot was still so well written that game kept me fully captivated through out. War, aliens and time travel are part of the plot, not just roaming around spaceship. Check out intro movie that shows the setting you're about to enter. Imo it's one of the best of this era, but it's also not too extensive on them. You'll watch occasional well acted video logs that have been left to you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bvm5EPUH_I8 If you liked intro, check out this old footage from the very begging which gets you the idea of ambiance and navigating around spaceship. It's safe at it goes through so fast and luckily skips one plot related FMV in one room. If this looks even remotely interesting. Buy the game immediately, seriously. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1LExrbHLHk In the end I can't fathom why this game is so little known, maybe cause it just didn't happen to sell well? Been gaming since late 80's and I'd 100% put this game on my personal TOP 50 games ever for sure and it likely would fit TOP 20 ever above the Day of the Tentacle.

Nice old school Sci-Fi

An interactive movie type game with a great story. Relic from the time when "science" in the term Sci-Fi was not yet just another word and adventure games were considered something that has to make you think, not to put you in a mind blank state. Pretty much worth buying if you missed it when it was released.

Suprisingly excellent adventure game

I bought this game on a whim, looking of a sci-fi adventure fix... and I was blown away! I could not put it down. This is still to this day probably my favorite sci-fi adventure game. Loved it!

Oh My what a good classic.

This is a game what I have played many times through. I also have original CDs and Manual of this game. I liked a story a lot and this game is easy. Nowadays games are just some P2W / F2P. Yuck. Also the other good game from same company is Unreal Gold. Graphics are what they are but hey: It is old game. In game music also makes good addition to atmosphere. That part when you go down that reactor spaces. Geez! Music in there are so intense.
