Simply put - Legend

I've played most of the Legend Entertainment adventure games back in the day, but Mission Critical (and some others) somehow went past me. So here I am after my first playthrough of this magnificent game in the year 2020, and what a ride that was! First of all, I gotta admit I was completely taken by surprise of how incredibly well everything about this game holds up to this day - the acting in FMV and voiceovers are amazing, graphics are downright gorgeous sometimes (although a few scenes look understandably dated due to a pre-rendered look, yet still not on an eye-sore level by any means) and the overall production quality never disappoints. Secondly, in typical Legend fashion the story is intelligently written, the locations are imaginative and believable and problems are never obtuse and a joy to solve. And the story is amazing! Great adventurous science fiction that raises questions that don't lose their actuality to this day. Overall Mission Critical quickly became one of my, if not the, favorite Legend Entertainment games of all time and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to any point-and-click fan to experience for themselves!

Quite Fun

This was a incredibly great game. Usually a dated game is tough to get into for me unless I played it back in the day when it was new. But this one had me hooked from the beginning. The storyline was great and gripping....the puzzles weren't too difficult.....just great! Even the "minigames" were fun and engaging. I can't recommend this enough.

Worth playing

This is a slow game with a good story that makes you think. Not for everyone though. Did not enjoy the tactical part but you can skip it allowing the computer to do the work. Nice to see Michael Dorn as well. All in all worth it.

Vastly underrated title!

I loved this game when I first found it years ago. It’s a first-person adventure, where you’re the last survivor of an Alliance warship left behind after your ship was defeated by a superior UN cruiser. Now you alone can decide the future of the war. But first you have to fix several urgent problems with the ship, including an unstable reactor. And then you have to learn to take the entire ship into battle... by yourself. This is where the game switches genres to a real-time strategy, where you launch drones at the enemy and try to outmaneuver him. The game also features some FMV sequences with live actors, including Michael Dorn (AKA Worf, son of Mogh).

Great quest

It's a great quest previously unknown to me. Considering the fact that most of the old quest puzzles are crap I was surprised that it's mostly logical and most of the information (including notes, diaries and logs) is actually critical to the solving and helps you a lot if you read it carefully. The interface is also good enough and you can save-load any time in the game and there is a nice map in the corner which tracks your location. The music is depressing enough (I sense some weird Yamaha DX vibes) and the overall darker and solid atmosphere is different from common at that time cartoonish comedy attitude. The sci-fi background to the game is pretty solid, I think that oldschool sci-fi fans might be interested in this game. So overall it's 5/5, I can recommend.
