Mirror's Edge™

I used to play the demo on Xbox 360 all the time but I couldn't afford the full game. Glad it's on GOG so I can see what the whole game is like. It's a lot of fun. Gameplay is great. Story OK. I'd recommend it if the gameplay looks interesting to you.

I dunno how far I am into the story but it is really good so far. All I gotta say is that this game is peak freerunning.

Story sucks and it just kinda ends, Combat doesnt quite work for either melee or shooting and there are only so many ways you could run a level. But my my this game just sticks with you. DICE is obviously known for thier battlefield games and you'd expect that coming from franchise like that, an idea this unique (at the time) wont be even close to good but man did they put in the effort to make this idea work and it shows. The game was fun at launch and its still fun now. The game sounds, looks and plays great to this day. It breaks my heart that a concept this good could only be explored and refined in two games. potential that would be wasted on EA. Its great however to see innovation on games that this inspired, somehow make first-person view spatial awareness actually work even improving on FPS movement in general. That being said game runs great on modern hardware but not perfect. Have to mod in fixes but even then still getting small stutters

I finished the main story in under 5 hours, so it's a rather short game, nonetheless it felt satisfying. I particularly liked the art design, the gameplay flow and the main protagonist, Faith, was really likeable and rather human. The dystopian aspects of the story are relatively vague, but with that I think they're timeless and more relevant than ever in nowadays times.

Anytime the game stopped focusing on fast paced, tricky parkour it faltered.
