This game actually has a great mechanics at the time. However certain things such as enemy can still hit you even if you are already taking cover, hit not registering when you shoot an enemy, and other bugs and glitches that may require you to reload to a previous checkpoint.
This is an interesting sequel, but I gotta say, the gameplay is very janky, dated and so is the AI. Enemies are bullet-sponge and they refuse to die, unless a headshot is made. Also shooting planes with an MG is a $#!t effort.
It's very buggy, from it's setting from resolutions, FOV and f@k#!ng keybinds. If you toggle Aim on and still experience un-toggle,. you need to re-toggle it in every level you're in. This also applies to Crouch bug. For some reason if you use crouch with CTRL keys, the game may be bug. Typical idTech 3 I suppose.
3/5
I love the medal of Honor games but thi oneis just to clunky to get into. the movement feels slow, the aiming feels slow and clunky and the squad mechanic just doesnt do it for me.
Pretty great game for it's age.
Setting is great, you get to see some great historical settings like Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal and the Battle of Tarawa.
Gunplay is good, mg emplacement accuracy is kinda bad, but if you don't just spray and pray, you can manage pretty well with those as well.
The story is pretty basic, but it's ok on it's own.
The difficulty is really manageable, especially on normal and below. Had no issues and only died once cause I rushed the mortars on the final part of Makin Atoll. Above normal, it can be frustrating at times, but manageable as well.
Graphics hold up nicely, and the sound are great. Some times the sound is very loud, like for example on the Pearl Harbor missions, the planes are almost deafening, but in my opinion this really adds to the experience.
Overall a great game that aged like fine wine
The Squad mechanics are great, improved gameplay over MOH:AA but the ADS mechanics (Aim Down Sights) isn't as smooth as the CoD 1 and United Offensive which were the competition at the time.
At least the AI in this game isn't as crazy godlike, like in MOHAA and it was nice to finally have AI friendlies the entire time.
