Become part of an Army Ranger team as you battle your way through enemy-infested towns, regain control of the Atlantic, and establish a beachhead as part of the D-Day invasion force on Omaha Beach in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault - Spearhead chronicles the last year of the war on the European front. Parachute behind enemy lines during Operation Overlord, halt the German offensive during the Battle of the Bulge, and engage the German forces as they desperately try to defend the heart of the Reich, Berlin. In Medal of Honor: Allied Assault - Breakthrough, you’ll join U.S. Army Sergeant John Baker as fights in the battle at Kasserine Pass in North Africa, race to capture Messina in Sicily, and finally repel the German army at the historic battle of Monte Battaglia in the heart of Italy.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest is a treasure trove of historical battles presented as a gritty World War II action FPS. Call in artillery and air strikes against the opposing forces and keep your squad away from the jaws of defeat and despair. Drive various assault vehicles, always charging onwards to victory. ONLY GET IN ON SALE

First off if you want to play multiplayer, use this: https://www.x-null.net/forums/threads/2159-Medal-of-Honor-Game-Server-Browser-Fixer Disclaimer: I did not finish this game and never will the game is decent. Audio's good, visuals aren't that bad. Models and textures are pretty ok too. Overall the game is kinda bland. Everything just kinda blends in together. The gameplay is also just barely decent. Its really just not satisfying to shoot any weapon but the one shot pistol. The shotgun especially is really laughable. Really just boring. Literally just play CoD 2 if you want a similar but much much better experience. Tbh, i don't even need to go that far, Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a much much better game from around the same year and is like $2 on sale here. The reason i didn't finish the game is a mission called Snipers Last Stand which is a part of the game where you go up against 100% accurate snipers with no audio/visual cues in the most grey environment ever created. So yeah... not good. Maybe good for a dollar or two. Bu this is not a game you play to have fun.

HARD!

I don't know why, but I don't remember this game being so difficult :D But it's great, tight atmosphere and really good story, even though it's just from mission to mission a closed story.

Not the best MOH title

MOHAA is perhaps tainted for me a bit by the fact that its gameplay is strongly similar to the PS1 iterations of the series. By the time I got to AA I had played those, the spectacular Frontline (which is a lot less stingy with ammo and medkits than AA) and Airborne. So AA is a good game, but it has a lot of situations that basically require you to save and reload until you get it right. This isn't particularly fun, and some sections (the sniper area in the King Tiger mission) seem designed around saving and reloading type trial and error. Who thought that was fun? Still- the music is great, the missions are pretty diverse and it gives the proper "feel" for a semi-realistic WWII shooter.

A time where a PC version could be bad

I was blessed to start this franchise on Gamecube with Medal of Honor: Frontline, developed by E.A Los Angeles. Just think about it: After the famous speech of Dwight D. Eisenhower you start the game on Omaha beach just like in Saving Private Ryan. The payers, the fear , the fight that starts when you get knocked into the sea by an artillery strike. Bullets cutting through water and hitting your brothers in arms. Running behind cover and shooting the gun nests when sergents screams for covering fire... One of the best gaming experience I had in my life. Medal of Honor: War Chest ( or Allied Assault) is, however, a huge disapointment. Especially compared to Frontline released on Gamecube, PS2 and Xbox that same year of 2002 but developped by another team. Missions order is ridiculous compared to Frontline. Here Africa, Northern Europe, Omaha beach ?! Breaks totally the intensity, the thrill of sucess of behing a trooper promoted to a special agent behind enemy lines. They didn't even took time to show your character the Lt. Powell, contrary to Frontline where you can see the ID of Jimmy Patterson. Difficulty is insane, the AI throw you swarms of enemies, Trondheim in Norway you have to kill hundreds of nazis that shoots homing bullets. Or bugs and simply awfull design, like at Omaha beach where instead of Frontline, you advance without being able to see the bunkers (with a fog at 20-30 meters that vanishes when you reach them). So you can't provide a covering fire, leaving the stupid AI shoot , like this hilarious moment when a sergent order to fire and two guys do it just right behind his head ! By talking about heads, characters models are uggly especially for Allied troops who are clones. Comrades hinding in artillery craters who looks the same.. soldiers who hold their rifle in a weird angle that cut their arms... stupide face animations... great for immersion ! Seriously Medal of Honor: War Chest is bad. Frontline was far more polished that this one. Same case on another excellent title: James Bond- Night Fire. Where you must forget the Pc and go grab the console version. Proof of a Time where Pc ports could be bad.... N.B: Two stars for the music.

Wonderful Classic

I grew up playing the Medal of Honor series; starting with the original on the PS1. The main studio behind the first game was under Dreamworks working alongside Steven Spielberg. Spielberg basically helped create an interactive version of his big film Saving Private Ryan. Some years after the original and its small sequel Underground, EA wanted to move the franchise to the PC. Allied Assault (along with the expansions) is a fantastic work of art. The soundtrack is amazing, especially for the time released. The overall game hasn't really aged well, but still holds up. I highly recommend starting the game on Easy so you can learn the layout of the levels and objectives since it gets really difficult closer to the end; even in the expansions, there's some escort missions where if you're not paying attention you can fail the objective since an ally died. There are some compatibility issues. There are some guides on GOG and elsewhere if you need some help getting the game to run. If you want a minor graphical upgrade, I suggest looking up the mod on ModDB. Overall, my rating stands at 4/5. It would be at a five, but the compatibility issues and random difficulty spikes make it fall short of perfection. I still recommend the game to anyone that's looking for an all time classic that basically help spawn other franchises that we also love and hate.
