You already have the base game?
Here you will find an upgrade to Lord's Edition.
Darkness descends over the world of Nostria. Conspiracies, sabotage, and necromancy are overshadowing the country. But maybe a saviour – the kingdom's last hope – is already here, to fight back and finally restore peace and order in Nostria!
King’s Bounty II is the long-awaited sequel to the legendary King’s Bounty video games franchise, one of the most iconic representatives of the turn-based RPG genre. Expanding on this legacy with an entirely new epic story, factions, enemies, and new features to forge an open and breaking fantasy world Antara. With the kingdoms in disarray, counties demanding independence, bandits prowl the roads, all the overseas nations have denied the King’s authority over them, and blighted creatures lie in wait for the unwary, new accidental heroes emerge as a last hope.
They are determined to bring order to the chaos. Play as one of them, recruiting, developing, and commanding your personal army on a non-linear adventure of betrayal, sacrifice, and survival. Fighting for your own future, outsmarting enemy in uniquely turn-based combat, making difficult decisions, and experience the intensity of one of the classic sagas in an exciting new way.
IMMERSIVE AND CHARACTER-DRIVEN EPIC STORY
Play as one of three main heroes, rescuing and building your personal army in a journey of leadership, survival, and sacrifice. Every decision you make has profound and lasting consequences.
UNIQUE MASSIVE WORLD TO DISCOVER
The world of Antara is wide open and ripe for exploration. Unearth hidden places and dangerous enemies — Antara is a vast home to a thousand wonders and secrets for players to discover.
CUSTOMIZABLE SQUAD AND EQUIPMENT
Each army squad has its own set of skills and visual appearance. Build armies of different creatures who will fight with you throughout the majority of your adventure.
TACTICAL DEPTH ON THE BATTLEFIELD
The environment and landscape matter in King’s Bounty II. Players will encounter diverse terrain types, directly impacting battlefield tactics. Every battle is unique in its own way.
I played as sorceress and I must say it was quite an adventurer. I started the game twice. First I made errors when building my character. I had to few talent points to buy the highest finesse abiliy. Only when I started the game again and acquired the skill of two spells per round I could continue with my adventure. The story is not something special, but collecting the loot and tactical fights were quite fun. Also scyre's trials are a very good mechanism, it makes you think about the fight as a riddle and enables you to fight with different builds. I think I will play the game again this time, using the warrior and following the anarchy and power path, using the power units. If you like tactical games with a spoon of riddles and rpg this is a game for you.
This is the first time I could not fit my review in the review box, and I don't want to. I got an initial bad impression of the game in the starting area, but then got addicted to it in a big way. You can find my full review in the game forums in my post titled "How I fell in love with King's Bounty 2." So feel free to disagree or point out inaccuracies there. (I accidentally made a duplicate post that I could not delete. There is no meaningful thought in that one.)
The short of it is, despite some rough edges, KB2 offers rich tactical combat gameplay motivated by a fun if predictable narrative. I have one big issue with the combat, related to magic. The narrative is actually very good on the micro-scale; it's only the general direction of the main story that is predictable. You can read more details in my review on the forums. If you liked King's Bounty 1 and don't mind the KB2's presentation (which you can check out on YouTube), or if you like 1C (sorry, Fulqrum) games generally, you will find a game you like in a better wrapped package in King's Bounty 2. Give it a chance, until at least after the introductory area.
The real sequel of the first King's bounty (not the king's bounty legends from katauri) , storywise ,
adding lore to the 90's gem .
the game is fun and addictive , entertaining plot for those who crave to dive again into the world of king maximus .
starting class matter , as the game enforce some of your rp choice , function if you choose the mercenary or the countess .
for the battles , lots of units and skills , let you plan your victory in numerous ways .
some minor flaws in the game , like the horse and the way he move , but nothing gamebreaking .
