I stoped after something like 2 hours. You start with a ship who strangely have 3 cannons on his board but can only shoot 1 bullet at time. The targeting system is awfull (straight line). It takes something like 20 bullets to destroy 1 small ship. In 2 hours I've only destroyed the tutorial ennemy! I'll go back on sid meier's pirates

Disclaimer: I got the game for free. I was initially skeptical about this game as most of the user review out there quite harsh. I decided to give it a chance and was immediately hooked to it. It's basically an easy to get into ARPG set in the sea. It also had a pinch of colony management, though it's so minor that you can ignore that aspect of it. Though the story is super linear, you get to ignore it and just play it like a sandbox game. Minor issues with this game, it's that you can't continue playing the sandbox game once you beat the story. Also side quest seem to repeat after awhile and once you conquered all the islands, well you are better off finishing the story. Overall I'd say, it's an easy to play and an excellent time sink.

It was enjoyable enough that I put time into trying to fix it. Sadly the game just doesn't save and it seems to be a well known issue. If you can get it free and want to try to fix this game, go for it. I'm not masochistic enough to spend any more time trying to get it to work.

So, it's pointless playing it as a result. It's simply a completely and utterly broken product as of now. It may, or may not get fixed in future updates (if any), but even then it's a simplistic, unnecessarily cartoonish plate of standard bread and butter fare. You've seen it all before and played it all before. On it's own merits, fully working, with saves enabled, it could get as high as 3-star. I got this when it was on a free offer. GOG have been giving out a LOT of such offers this past two years, but they have mostly been utter 1-star dross. Maybe stick to giving decent money off sales for good games instead of filled poobags for free GOG? Or just give out better freebies? Make them less frequent if necessary! Full price of £20 is sheer robbery.

Started the game, played for a few days, got past capturing the 3 ports mission, upgraded a bunch of the ports using my 0.5M amassed. That was yesterday. Today I launch the game... 2 days are simply missing. The game "autosave" last saved when I was halfway through the medicine delivery mission that preceded the 3 forts capture mission. WTH!!!! This, apparently, is NOT an isolated incident. There are reports going back to 2021. Hey Devs, if you CANNOT figure this out, how about a nice "YOU deal with the saves" option. The old fashion way, where, if I don't save, it's on me to curse myself. Cause if your ears are burning, you can bet good money it's me.
