Promising but wait for Patches
I'm a big fan of Pirate themed games (Sid Meier's Pirates!, Port Royale, Windward, ...) so this game appears right up my alley. It's promising right now but there are some technical and design issues right now that prevents me from playing further. The Good: + Nice graphics and lovely artstyle + Good performance for an UE Game + Even tough it's a barebones story/setting it has it's charm. Weird choice for character portait art tough. The Bad: - No mouse support at all, I know you get the "Real Yakuza use a Gamepad" prompt at the beginning but even those games have mouse support for basic menu usage. You literally do not use your mouse in this game, ever. - No rebindable Keybinds. Note: A Patch has been promised for the end of June that will allow mouse usage. - No Achievements on GOG (come on devs, the API is not that difficult) - Quite a few bugs, some of them are show-stoppers. For example being killed during fetch quests will not advance the counter anymore and all AI do not attack any longer (Who playtested this?). You need to restart the process after each death, even quitting to main menu will not resolve this. - If you play with Keyboard when firing your cannons port or starboard (left vs right side) becomes a frustrating exercise because the controls do not invert to the relative position of your ship. Visual indicators like arrows before a shot could help with this. Literally 50% of my shots miss because I don't know which side my ship is currently on. Other games solved this problem already so why reintroduce solved problems!? - frustrating as hell. - Appears to be very light in content in terms of ship and mission types (Counted 5 Ships so far, and most quests are either fetch or kill) no base or land interaction.
