Promising but wait for Patches

I'm a big fan of Pirate themed games (Sid Meier's Pirates!, Port Royale, Windward, ...) so this game appears right up my alley. It's promising right now but there are some technical and design issues right now that prevents me from playing further. The Good: + Nice graphics and lovely artstyle + Good performance for an UE Game + Even tough it's a barebones story/setting it has it's charm. Weird choice for character portait art tough. The Bad: - No mouse support at all, I know you get the "Real Yakuza use a Gamepad" prompt at the beginning but even those games have mouse support for basic menu usage. You literally do not use your mouse in this game, ever. - No rebindable Keybinds. Note: A Patch has been promised for the end of June that will allow mouse usage. - No Achievements on GOG (come on devs, the API is not that difficult) - Quite a few bugs, some of them are show-stoppers. For example being killed during fetch quests will not advance the counter anymore and all AI do not attack any longer (Who playtested this?). You need to restart the process after each death, even quitting to main menu will not resolve this. - If you play with Keyboard when firing your cannons port or starboard (left vs right side) becomes a frustrating exercise because the controls do not invert to the relative position of your ship. Visual indicators like arrows before a shot could help with this. Literally 50% of my shots miss because I don't know which side my ship is currently on. Other games solved this problem already so why reintroduce solved problems!? - frustrating as hell. - Appears to be very light in content in terms of ship and mission types (Counted 5 Ships so far, and most quests are either fetch or kill) no base or land interaction.

Progress isn't saved

The current version of the game (1.20) doesn't save your progress or settings. Nothing else matters because playing the game is absolutely pointless when you cannnot save your progress.

1 Star - but really 0

Can't save the game (1.20 version) - tried Run as Admin and that didn't work. **AVOID THIS GAME** Definitely a lack of QA testing by the studio!!

map gameplay hurts exploration and trade

The initial tutorial indicates that the map will be revealed as you explore. This ends up not being true. When you dock at a port, the port is not added to your map. As it turns out, the map is only updated when you purchase charts from a cartographer NPC. It's puzzling how, after visiting a port, you wouldn't know where that port was. This also prevents effective trading as you can't simply trade between known points you've already discovered. What would make sense would be to add ports to the map when you visit them. Buying a chart from a cartographer would add areas you haven't yet visited to your map, and that would make sense. But it's not logical to have visited a port and not then know where that is on your map. As it is now, it discourages exploration and trade and doesn't seem like a logical design choice. A possible workaround may be to screenshot the map screen when you dock at a port and manually add your own markers :)

Starts strong then lazy plot creeps in.

Its early access in reality. Feels unfinished, large parts need graphics upgrade esp the character scenes. Very cheaply drawn considering what this world has in terms of technology. For me, the homing fireball is just a lazy way of solving a problem, how to balance the battles and give the player something to get their teeth into, trouble is, its a game changer, this weapon in the hands of the enemy with precise aiming destroys half your ship, half your crew and half your guns.....seriously, what are they doing ! its just die and try again, et al until you either get lucky or you just end up fighting the boss, his escorts and a couple of ghost ships that appear now and again or even a Navy galleon as well just to make sure you understand that this game is rigged. Oh, and all you've got is a sloop. lol.
