While i love pirate games this is very feature light, feels like a mobile game or similar low budget arcade game where everything is very simplified and nothing shines.
The game has 4 major problems wich all three have nothing to do with the game beeing not realistic or such. The game seems to be an ARPG after all.
The problems are:
-You can't skip cutscenes no button on the Controller works.
-You can't controll the game with Keyboard or Controller after you destroyed the first enemy ship.
(Tested it multiple times)
-If you lose online connection, the game kicks you to the mainscreen and you can play from beginning.
-THE GAME DOESN'T SAVE ANYTHING!
I have no Idea why the game has an auto-save feature that does "jack-rabbit-poop".
It's a shame.
The more you play the more frustrating it gets.
Very grindy game, you need to be lvl 60 to finish the game. I am lvl 47 not even close and i have 15h, and of that 15h. 13 is grind. story is maybe 2 h. only thing left is the last quest.
Loved the game at the beginning, but now to boring to finish, because of the grind.
The story and the game are maybe MAX 1.5-2h. But for the first part of the game to continue story you have to be lvl 35, and the last part you need to be lvl 60, that is it, in between you have to grind and farm you reach the lvl. And what is the worst part of the game, after you reatch the last part, you can't grind because time to time last quest will randomly start. However made this game, just make it but NEVER test it properly.
I tried to love it and finish it, but the last quest is just bad starting randomly every time, cant even lvl up normally because of that.
I normally don't use the GOG Galaxy installer, so I just downloaded the 1.20 installation file. This games uses a autosave-function. So I started the game and played a while. Every time I quitted the game and did a restart my savegame was gone (see other comments).
So I uninstalled the game und downloaded the GOG Galaxy-file and did a new installation of the game. With logged-in GOG Galaxy the problem is solved, after a restart my savegame was still there.
There should be a notice that this game works only correctly with GOG Galaxy in use.
The game is quite fun, I would prefer a more open gameplay rather a strict storyline-based. Also the controll is a bit clumsy. I like the part of upgrading your ship, the special weapons like a flamethrower and the option to trade in order to earn money. With more fine-tuning in controls and gameplay this could have been a much better game.
I think there is definitely room for a pirate game like this. But sadly this is definitely not it. Lots of gameplay and UI aspects that are extremely shoddy and the underlying game is just outright not fun.
