Kenshi is an open world, squad based sandbox RPG set in a brutal sword-punk wasteland. Gameplay is open-ended rather than a linear story, so you can play as a settler, a trader, a thief, a rebel, a warlord, an adventurer, a farmer, a slave... or just food for the cannibals.
But first things first,...
But first things first, you need to survive. Train your men up from puny victims to master warriors, carry your wounded squad mates to safety and get them all home alive. You are not the chosen one, you’re not great and powerful, you don’t have more ‘hitpoints’ than everyone else and you are not special. Unless you work for it.
Customise a solo character or a whole squad and train them from puny victims to master warriors
Survive in an unrelenting world of slavers, cannibals, wild beasts and famine. Nowhere is safe.
Build your own fortress, research technologies, craft your own gear and wage war with other factions
Explore and scavenge the uncharted lands of one of the largest single player open world maps to date
Absolutely no level-scaling. The world does not level up along with you and the game won't hold your hand.

This is really a hardcore game but when you really get the hang of it you cant stop playing it
it needs a couple of Mods to fix some of small problems but nothing too serious
Last time I was a skeleton running around the place with 5 bonedogs and 2 pack bulls (to carry enough meat so the darn dogs don't starve every 5 seconds) and letting the animals kill everything on sight while the skeleton acted mostly as the party tank.
The time before that I was a hiver prince turned into a killing machine capable of punching the lights out of a leviathan and mowing down hordes of mobs (mobs of mobs?) without breaking a sweat.
Before that I was a scorchlander set on collecting all meitous, no matter the cost. And before that a mad shek trying to kill everything and everyone. And before that a greenlander wanting to become a real state mogul and buying and renovating every property in every city.
I don't exactly know what I'm going to do next time I play. What I do know is I will continue to play Kenshi until Kenshi 2 releases and maybe even after that.
Its one of those projects that you watch gameplays, the graphics are bad, but you still want to try it out. Dont do it. Once in, you never want to come out.
Awesome game. You can do so many stuff that its way too fun.
Play it as you wish, solo, squad, have a base or roam the entire map, kill anyone or be friends with all races. Its way too good.
Only downside... you will wish it has an online co op function.
A very large potential, but the game is advancing at a snails pace. I purchased this years ago and will continue to wait until it is a mostly finished game before I really embark on it. The 20 hours or so I played years ago were not a very happy 20 hours. Save your money and wait. If it ever nears completion, it'll be a good buy, but I'd say odds are it won't.
If you like open-ended gameplay. You like to make up your own stories in the world, and you don't like linear hand helding then you should give to that game a try.
Things I like:
- it's squat based.
- character can be sientist, fighter, weapon/ armor smith, simple worker, assasin, thief or all of it combined and even more.
- health system ( every limp/ body part has it's own health bar)
- experience gain system (like in elder scroll)
- it's open ended gameplay, letting me chose how I want to play the game.
- easy modding
What I don't like:
- bugs
I bought that game back in 2012, through their website. First you could just run around the desert can kill or get kill, and trade goods. That basic was very fun, and over the years new features, graphics have been added.
It's like Mad Max meets Star Wars
Prop the most hours I have spend on any video game, and it is not complite yet. :D
It has modding possibilities with an extra tool that is built in to the game. You can change all kind of stats, if there is need for that, or even create your own game content.
Even thought there is bugs, the gameplay wins me over with the gameplay and the freedom it gives. Kenshi is in my top 3 next to Dark Souls 1 and Mass Effect 1.
Looking forward for the full realise.
