Description

The Deluxe Edition includes a Mini Campaign and a big Add-on, granting access to all new adventures in the alternative reality of 1920+. Exact contents still to be determined, but expect hours of real time strategy and story-driven action of the highest quality!

Iron Harvest is a real-time strategy game (RTS) set in the alternate reality of 1920+, just after the end of the Great War. The Game lets you control giant dieselpunk mechs, combining epic singleplayer and coop campaigns as well as skirmishes with intense action on the battlefield for multiplayer fans, Iron Harvest is the classic real-time strategy games fans have been waiting for.

Tradition clashes with scientific and technological progress, while Europe is still recovering from the brutal battles of the World War. Cities are being rebuilt and in the countryside, the era of the Iron Harvest has begun. Farmers are uncovering the remains of the majestic walking machines that had fought on the battlefields of the Great War.

In the midst of this chaos, a new threat appears that will put Europe’s very existence at risk. Secret forces are putting everything they can towards destabilization of entire countries, determined to set the world on fire once again and finally seize control.

Lead dozens of different unit types into battle, carefully utilize cover and blast entire buildings to shreds. Take your time to come up with a plan which allows for a wide range of tactics, including a stealth approach. Mechs. We got mechs. Lots of them.

Experience an epic overarching story, spanning more than 20 missions over three campaigns. Join nine charismatic heroes and their beastly companions in their adventures across Europe. Team-up with a friend and master all campaigns side-by-side in co-op.

Command three diverse factions with over 40 unit types and 9 heroes with unique abilities. Setup skirmish and multiplayer matches any way you want. Configure your personal game interface and choose your favourite input controls.

Competitive multiplayer with ladders, ranked matches & leagues. Choose from a vast selection of skirmish maps and challenge maps, available to play in singleplayer and coop. In addition expect regular free updates during the season, including new singleplayer challenges, multiplayer maps and more to look forward to.

Conquer resource points, build your base and place fortifications to protect your unit production and research.

Cross-play multiplayer with Steam is supported.

A good game with some technical problems

Took me about 50 hours of gameplay to conclude this game campaign (DLCs included). It would be faster if I haven't found some bugs. I like the game over all but it really need some bug fixes to receive a 5 stars review. Basicaly art and story are interesting and well made. Gameplay its a bit slow but engaging. Only real problem are the bugs. In some rare times units get stuck not dying. They just stick there poluting the screen and your map. Sometimes saves does not work even automatic ones. I experienced most of this problems in Operation Eagle and Rusviet Revolution DLCs. There was even a scene where a train was show without its skin. Its a promissing game who just need some more polishing. For that I can only give it a 4 star. I cant say much about the multiplayer aspect but I believe it can be interesting if all this bugs are addressed.

Mixed bag

Firstly, the story it's interesting for me as a Pole, I like the Polish/Russian/English voice over with subtitles (although the Polish voice actors are only ok) the story is definetly interesting, this game feels like Comany of Heroes with Mechs which sounds great but falls short during execution, the units don't have enought health to do proper flanking and lack of detailed controls prefents you from preforming any advance manuvers also I had a number of bugs (couldn't load saves from one mission, had some graphics artefacts apear and had to restart and also had the game crash to windows), I waited for a year to play this game and even with that the bugs were still there, I would still recommend this game to casual RTS fans, I paid 25 Euro for this game on sale and I feel like it was a fair price

So much love in this game <3

Pros : - Graphic : great! - Sound : very nice OST (even if the game deserves even more musics^^), ambiance,... - Gameplay : I just do love it. It's like developpers took every good tools from other RTS to make a new optimized one. Gameplay is fluent, efficient, immersive and well balanced. - Campaign : really cool and clever story, well concieved characters (at last strong and not sexualized women characters, thank you God of Gaming!!! ), great challenges. And what a fascinating universe <3 - Skirmish (vs AI) : really cool. This is not a game with legions of soldiers, in Iron Harvest every unit counts! Cons : - Graphic : huge FPS loss during most of the campaign missions (GTX 1080 !)! I hope there will be optimization fix! Why not adding a more immersive camera like Dawn of War 1 ? :) - Sound : some DEEP bass for far explosions would be more immersive :) And I want more musiiiiiics :D - Gameplay : I only had 2 little bugs, including a funny mek shaking as hell^^. Factions have all different units, but I think it would be even funnier if these factions would be more different (for instance, in Company of Heroes, british faction was very defensive). - Campaign : as already said, beware the huge FPS loss. - Skirmish : I enjoyed several games against hard AI but it was somehow too easy for me, maybe the campaign made me good at skirmish games^^ NB : I still dit not try Multiplayer CONCLUSION : I do recommend this game, really. I understand the bitter taste left to some players because of the game sold as not complete (some maps and big changes come every week), but it makes sense to me considering the spirit of Iron harvest : a game concieved by passionate people (developpers and community) for passionate gamers, and we can still follow its growing and evolution through weeks. I am very confident in the evolution of this (already great) game, this is why I give it 5 well-deserved stars :)

Love the game

Great game. Honestly i'm having a great time with this game. Unfortunately it's not without issues. First the good stuff: Campaign is good, there's a good story that will keep you going, focusing on different characters. Now i wont go into details, but i really love it, just for the campaign alone its worth buying it. Right now you have quite a few maps for skirmish against ai. And also for multiplayer. You can also level up your profile and customize, but it's only cosmetics and such. Now for bad stuff: (Mind you, this is my personal opinion) Ai is kind of weird. For example, right now i find easy ai more challenging than hard ai. But im sure, they will rebalance the ai with future updates. Now for maps, like i said that there are quite a few of them, but there's no map editor, we cant create our own.And quite honestly, once you finish campaign, you gonna get bored with ai pretty quickly playing the same maps over and over again. Maybe not that quick, but yeah. Of course there's also multiplayer. With multiplayer i find the problem that there's no lobby, i mean you cant select a match like for example you can in age3 or company of heroes. You can only select number of players, you wish to play against or with and click search button and thats it. Everything is automaticly done. I miss chatting before starting a match. But all that said it's still fun to play. I mean big mechs destroying buildings, insane. Before i finish this review. I HAVE ONE QUESTION FOR THE DEVELOPERS. IS MAP EDITOR COMING?!!!!!!! I ALREADY ASKED ON GOG FORUM AND STEAM AND STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN A REPLY. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE ANSWER, SIMPLE YES OR NO WOULD DO, IT WOULD ADD SO MUCH TO THE GAME.

Good, with potential for a great sequel

I wasn't sure about this game at first, read many opinions about bugs and lackluster mechanics. I finally decided to by this version with all DLCs and turns out, I really like this title :) Yes, there are some bugs, the quality of certain elements could be better for this price, and the game will disappoint people who spent most of their lives in RTS games. It's definitely not a game for hardcore RTS players. Mechanics are good enough for someone who is interested in a fun, but not too complex gameplay servicing good story. There are many strategic elements to choose from, but none of them are especially deep and groundbreaking. But none of them feel terrible either. The game is heavily inspired by older titles, and that's ok too, for someone without thousands of hours spent on strategy games like myself. You don't but this title for deep mechanics, however. You buy it for the story and, especially, the amazing world based on Jakub Różalski's 1920+ art series. Unit design, map elements and music are great. A really fun story is somewhat based on Poland, Germany and Russia from around 1920s, but with diesel powered mechs instead of tanks. It all seems familiar and new at the same time. Writers fund a way to introduce some real life people in this unreal world, and in a way that is both awesome and makes perfect sense. And the playable heroes and NPCs are a fun bunch to hang around :) Not all is great, of course. Some of the dialogs are a bit cringe and uninspired. Some voice actors could do a better job in the future. Also, there are bugs that can cause frustration at times. Interface designers could use a little time for thinking things over. My biggest letdown were poor quality cut scenes. You could see right there that the budget of this title wasn't very big. In general, the technical aspect leaves something to be desired, so I suggest waiting for a discount. Objectively, it's a 3/5 title, but for the story and world design I've added +1 to the score.
