Homeworld® Remastered Collection

I haven't played the original version, so this remake is a new game for me. Part 1: Undoubtedly worthy of this classic work, the difficulty level is just right. I can comfortably control my steel army to fiercely strike enemies, even with a few setbacks, which is completely acceptable. Part 2: At first, I felt like I borrowed a lot from the expansion pack of the first part, and the importance of military restraint became significant. The deterrence of large and medium-sized ship groups has been severely weakened, so that the enemy can easily destroy my fleet, but I find it completely difficult to deal with (because the enemy is mixed). I got stuck in the fourth level, and a huge sense of frustration from multiple failures enveloped me. I know this is largely due to my poor skill level, as was my 1-star review of the first expansion pack a few days ago. But what impressed me most was that the "Halo: Wars" series was fun and easy to play, and the difficulty design was just as good as the first "Homeworld" game!

Homeworld 1 is a classic. Homeworld 2 is only remembered well by people with nostalgia goggles. Homeworld Remastered turns both games into Homeworld 2. In the case of Homeworld 1, this means that the difficulty ramps to unplayable levels due to a fleet-size-based scaling function that was clearly not tested by the developers. Effective strategy on level 2 makes level 3 an instant game over without mods. Essentially, this is a one-star review with a second star added for having the original Homeworld 1 attached.

A really cool and unique RTS, beautiful visuals nice music, cool story. The campaign doesn't have a difficulty setting , however it gets harder as you progress in the missions (since less then 10% people completed HMR1 and less then 5% in HMR2 lol). Happy with the purchase!

Homeworld (1999) wasn't just a game; it was a revolution. Homeworld pioneered true 3D space combat, allowing ships to move in any direction, creating complex formations and flanking maneuvers. The free-floating camera provided unparalleled tactical awareness. The ship building and enhancement system, coupled with resource management, added a simulation feel to the mission-based gameplay. Use the Tutorial: While the learning curve and occasional difficulty spikes posed challenges, the overall experience was transformative. At the time I was a level designer on Heroes of Might and Magic III. After work Homeworld was my escape. The sheer scale, freedom of movement, and emotional power captivated me. Seeing the 2015 Remastered Edition was a very welcome return. I was ecstatic! Enhancing the visuals and audio while preserving the core gameplay. It was a testament to Homeworld's enduring legacy, a timeless classic that continues to inspire. Homeworld is more than a game; it's an experience, a journey, a masterpiece that deserves to be experienced by all gamers.

Some games I like to play, some I want to learn: I tried others, to learn RTS, and this game wins the prize for it's performance and tutorial. My hat's off to veteran RTS gamers out there, so much to do and keep track of... I always say computers multi-task for me, because I can not do this so well! However, because the camera works, the graphics are great, and the tutorial at least is good basic instruction, I highly recommend Homeworld for newbies at least. I'm a newbie, so I can't say for certain of more experienced players. If one can laugh at oneself and try again, here's Your chance! Because the performance and visuals are excellent on my Win 10 i5 and older nvidia card, my own first frigate's explosion was GLORIOUS; and I did laugh because I could tell what I likely did wrong, as I could at least follow the action to hopefully learn from the mistakes. I recommend with four stars, as I don't Know so much, or would give it five easy for a newbie to try. I also bought this on sale, and would recommend waiting for one also especially if unfamiliar with RTS; it will take a bit of time to learn.
