Description

If you already own Hero's Hour, you'll receive a 70% discount on its Deluxe Edition containing Rogue Realms DLC.

Hero's Hour is an accessible, yet-deep and content-rich Strategy Roleplaying Game. Take control of your hero, explore the world, build up your town, fight fast-paced battles, level up your hero and amass an army large enough to take out the opponents - before they take you out.

Turn Based + Real Time

While exploring the overworld and developing your town and army are both turn-based, giving you time to think and plan out your next moves, in battles your units will do the best to fight for themselves in real time - all hundreds of them. Cast spells and give attack orders to swing the tide of battle - or just sit back and watch as your might unfolds.

Procedural Generation

Hero's Hour brings impactful procedural generation to the strategy game formula, ensuring that every time you play, there will be new areas to explore and strange buildings to enhance your hero or army. Seek out obelisks to start you on small procedural quests that send you around the world. You won't even be able to use the same build order each time you play the same faction.

Features

  • 11 factions with special mechanics, strengths and weaknesses
  • 22 hero classes, with a special skill each
  • 50 common hero skills
  • 177 units (and 99 upgraded units)
  • 80 unique unit abilities
  • 166 artifacts
  • 83 spells (+18 spells unlocked via skills)
  • Dozens of impactful map buildings
  • Local "hotseat" multiplayer
  • Co-op with other players or even with the AI

Being on the faster side compared to other turn based strategy games, you may even be able to finish the hotseat games that you start!

Bright, Pure, Silly Fun I Can't Put Down

TL;DR This is not a 'wait for it on sale' game. Get it now if you are on the fence. If I were to summarize this game in a short sentence, it would be this: "This game is HOMM 3, but with all the really annoying things from that game streamlined." It's HOMM 3 with all the QOL features you could ask for, with a bright shiny new package, (as of now) TWELVE very unique factions with non-stupid mechanics. Hate having to go from town to town, making a level 5 guild hoping for Town Portal? In this game, it's guaranteed in the first magic upgrade you buy. Hate setting up a conga line of Heroes carting your units after your main hero? Your units can walk the map on their own. Also, unit generating structures automatically have them travel to the closest hero or city. Hate having only space for a small portion of your army? There's not limit to the army you can take with you... (just how much of it you can field at a time) Not sure what the heck a certain artifact you can see on the map does? Just hover over it, or look at the IN GAME WIKI. Detailing Every Hero, Every Ability, Every Artifact, Every Enemy! What does Horde Mean..? Several? Lots? Which of those numbers is bigger!? Well, here, it tells you in plain numbers the range of enemies. 1-5, or 10-50, or 100-500, etc. Also, Tells you how well you would fare vs them. Easy. Moderate. Challenging. Hard. impossible. Never get surprised again! So many features I love: Map Zooming in and out, tons of crazy item set combos to break the game over your knee, fun battle system when you get to see your armies duke it out in real time (which you can pause), SO MUCH MAGIC, cutesy music bleep bloops, cute bright art, much more fair random map generation, difficulty YOU can control in a dozen different options, modding... It's just a TON of gameplay in a very well polished package. I dropped 15 hours in a single weekend when I first bought it. Buy the game.

Good mix of HoMM and Dominions

At first, looks early HoMM clone. The graphics is cute pixel look, turn based map movement as usual.. but the combat is real-time, and way better than HoMM, more like Dominions 1. The only thing I miss is formations. Works perfectly on Mac OS with Porting Kit or Crossover. Chose the 64bit 19.x.x engine.

King's Bounty vs Heroes of M&Ms

This brings back memories of King's Bounty (old skool DOS version). I still have my DOS version of KB I play on DOSbox every once in a while. This reminds me of that game quite a bit. Also has a lot of HoMM in it's gameplay. I am not a huge fan of the cheesy 16-bit crap, but the gameplay is pretty solid. The turn based part of the game is almost exactly like KB or HoMM, the combat is fun to watch for a while. Combat is pretty much on autopilot watching all of your pixelated bunnies hop around like mad. Definitely worth the 16$ I paid for hours of entertainment.

Fun and easy to learn

A fast-paced and enjoyable HoMaM clone. The battles are real time. There are tons of factions and units. Not insisting to win the tutorial was a good decision, because that match got stuck quickly. I left it there and just enjoyed new games, which were more balanced.

It's ... good. Really. I like it!

I encountered no bugs so far. Seems they fixed the ones mentioned earlier. Highly addictive game. Good price and very good replayability. I never played the HOMM games before. This game made me like this genre. Highly recommended.
