Description
Welcome to the Wild West like you’ve never seen it before. When a tragic turn of events sets one man down a path of supernatural chaos and revenge, he must brutally hunt down all those who wronged him. Because in this world, death is a constant presence and the black pacts which you make with forces beyond human comprehension will forever haunt all those around you. 

Fight and survive through 8 unique story-based scenarios, and try your hand at more than40 individually designed turn-based combat missions. Journey deeper into the world of Hard West and meet a colorful cast of playable characters whose fates are intimately intertwined with yours. Together you will need to make divisive choices to uncover the ultimate plans of the ancient powers at play, as you unravel a deep narrative storyline featuring multiple endings depending on the choices you make during the game.

  • Compelling Turn-based Combat: Control 1-4 squad members in thrilling turn-based combat encounters and master a range of powerful western-inspired special abilities, from feats of gunslinging to survivability against all odds, to take out your opponents in a series of original tactical maps with unique story-based objectives. 
  • Collect and Combine Special Abilities: Obtain new special abilities by collecting and equipping unique cards which are earned throughout the game by completing main- and optional objectives, exploration , bartering, treasure hunting and more. Hard West isn't the deepest game of its kind, but it does a good job of walking the line between cold, hard tactics, and Weird West-style personality. Its mystically-inspired abilities add a fun twist to the X-Com formula, even if they do remove some of the need for tactical forsight. A richer world outside of combat would have been nice, but as is, Hard West still presents a fun, unique take on turn-based tactics.

Looked promising at start...

Story isn't bad, however gameplay is sluggish and restrictive. Check second game in series instead.

Not a RPG, Disrespects Player's Agency.

There's no real player agency when it comes to meaningful choices in Hard West. While the Narrator is addressing you directly. You do this, You do that. What he means is the character does this or that. A character you have no influence on other than helping it with fights. Seems like the devs wanted to be puppeteers and forgot they were making a video game. I could have forgiven them for wanting to be puppeteers, if they didn't write it like I was making the choices. The constant you do this, or that, infuriated me. No, I didn't do all these things. I would never do these things. They went far with the hard sell, and the experience was terrible for it.

Stay clear of it

I confess i had some expectations about this game: i didn't think it could be a masterpiece... but... i hoped i could find something good in it I doìn't like it: silly simple gameplay, absurd plot, with nonsense great end... I'm no big fan of jagged aliance and other tactical shoot-outs...but.. really ... soldiers at war (1998) and those old ufo/x-com series offer really much more sophisticated combats and more cunning challenges

I started game for the final time

Tried to play and even switched to easy to see if there was a difference with shooting percentages. I could not believe when I couldn't hit an opponent in front of me and I was uningured. 0% chance to hit with a loaded weapon???
