The Original was better
I played the original game and it is great. This version is sadly dumbed down. And the devs don't care.

weird story. mediocre gunplay
Was torn between 3 and 4 stars; since I played it through, it can´t be that bad, despite it´s shortcomings. These are: - weird story - enemies have no real hitboxes - some weapons / upgrades are simply useless - not much is explained about weapons / enemies - you can jump (somehow) but not crouch I beat the game on "hard" in three sessions; I´m not a regular fps player, so that means, the game is easy (aside from two situations, which were a bit unfair..) . Get it while it´s on sale, because it does show it´s age in some areas.

Excellent action
Great fps. Great control. Whenever I get killed in this game, I feel like it's my fault, not the fault of the game or controls. I always feel like I'm in control. Love the upgrade system. It lends a sense of strategy to what you buy and when. I love to put on some good music and just get lost in the combat. I've finished this game a few dozen times. A new classic.

Bad Slideshow for Storytelling
The game itself is quite good and interesting. My problem was the usability of the weapons and switching their modes during fights. I found that very difficult. In the end I also used nearly always the same weapons: Grenade/RPG, Sword and Railgun. The story itself was very interesting. But I did not like the "Slideshow" style of the story telling. The game is long ... you have a lot of different locations and secrets. A remake with better graphics and reworked weapons would be really cool.
