FREE TO PLAY THAT’S WORTH YOUR TIME
A fair and fun progression system turns the effort of building a competitive collection of cards into pure pleasure — simply collect new cards to build decks with as you play GWENT; no strings attached.
STUNNING, ALL ACROSS THE BOARD
Beautiful, hand-drawn art and mesmerizing visual effects breathe life into every card, battle and battlefield, making GWENT fun to play and every duel a joy to watch.
SKILL BEATS LUCK
Crush the enemy with brute strength or outsmart them with clever tricks — no matter your deck, GWENT’s unique round-based gameplay opens up a world of strategic possibilities to play with when fighting for victory.
MORE THAN ONE WAY TO PLAY
Whether it’s a quick online game against a friend, a highly competitive PvP challenge, or something new and wildly adventurous like the Arena, GWENT’s selection of game modes has got you covered.
EASILY SATISFYING, ANYTHING BUT EASY
Sling cards from your deck across two tactically distinct rows — melee and ranged. Gather more points in the duel against your opponent to win a round. Win two out of three rounds to win the battle. It won’t be easy, but no one said it should be.
NO HOLDING BACK, NO HOLDING HANDS
You start with 10 cards from your deck in hand, able to play each card right from the start. It’s up to you to open the game with your strongest unit, or save the best for later in the fight. How will your deck look and what will your strategy be?
The game requires an online connection to play and offers optional in-game purchases.
This game in my opinion had a great artwork style and the gameplay feels so good, the learning curve line is easy to follow and fan base of this game really helps new players a lot.
Definetly you should give Gwent a try!
(For me Gwent is the best card game so 5 out of 5 stars.)
I played o nand off since open beta, feeling like Gwent was ultimately a good foundation, but an unfinished game with some very fundamental flaws. Now with Homecoming, I'm hooked - almost all the fundamental flaws have been fixed, and the game is now full of variety and subtlety. Before, Gwent was abotu big plays. Now, it's about subtlety and out thinking your opponent.
I don't believe it's perfect yet, but as a base offering with no expansions yet, Homecoming is already the best card game around (unless, and still only maybe, you have time to dedicate to MTG). With new content on the horizon, Gwent is going to be amazing!
Gwent is the most fun card game Ive tried. I love the witcher lore and the feeling of the world is transported well. The devs are improving the game a lot, listen to feedback, have great communication with the playerbase and CDPR did a couple great esport competitions. After the homecoming updated the game changed a lot and many of betatester hated it.
I believe that the current post-homecoming game set a much better base for future possibilities. More cards and leaders (already announced) could bring more synergies and depth into the gameplay and improve the game a lot.
Pros:
- witcher feeling
- Art of cards, boards... is stunning
- rewarding progression system
- fair grinding
- great voice acting
- getting a lot improvements over time (last mulligan update was great)
- devs listen to feedback
- good esport events
- good community with a lot of guides for beginners
- beginner friendly
Cons:
- big changes are a bit annoying for players who try to catch up
- homecoming update changes too much for a lot of players and important streamers/youtubers
- some annoying bugs (get constantly fixes)
- PC game performance could be better
- needs cards, leaders, balancing, synergies (all coming soon)
I never played Witcher 3 but I decided to give gwent a try simply because i loved Witcher 1 and 2. 600+ hours later, this is definitely one of my favourite games of all time. The economy is incredibly generous, so much so that I actually felt bad and decided to buy stuff simply to support it. What you get from the game depends on how you want to play: you can use crazy decks to have fun, go hardcore and play hours and hours to learn the current top strategies, or go with the pro ladder.
The one downside I would say is that the game lacked an identify for a long time and had to go through some major overhauls to find one. The game has been recently overhauled completely and this alienated some players. If you have never played before, this is absolutely a great time to jump in and learn the new gwent. I loved the old gwent, and I am loving this new gwent. The joy is still there and I recommend to anyone to pick this game up and give it a try.
With each new patch this game is getting back to how it used to be. One of the best card games you can play online. Most problems from before are fixed. Now you have a game that is the best looking CCG you can play and it plays well too. The board, the leaders and the card look beautiful. The art is amazing. The gameplay is unique and stratigic. And its pretty cheap to play. If you are coming back from a break or are looking for a great card game to play you need to check out Gwent.
