Months after the final release, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is still going strong. The minigame-turned-esport continually goes through iterations and patches, shedding skins and morphing into a real beast of a card game. It has a wistful past, a solid present, and a bright future.

Game is dead because of broken balance
Let me start by saying that The Witcher is my favorite fantasy universe. I've read all of Sapkowski's books and played all of CDPR's Witcher games. I've been playing Gwent since the closed beta testing. In my opinion, this game has the best art and music in its genre. But unfortunately, with the addition of new cards, the balance was destroyed. With the addition of deck transfers, everyone started copying meta decks and stopped creating their own. The saddest thing is that the game's development is complete, so no changes to the balance are to be expected. Of course, there is still the Consul's vote on card nerfs, but that doesn't help. For example, cards like Reaver Hunters broke the game three years ago. Have they been changed? No. Therefore, my review is negative. I do not recommend wasting your time on this game, despite all my respect for CDPR.
