FREE TO PLAY THAT’S WORTH YOUR TIME

A fair and fun progression system turns the effort of building a competitive collection of cards into pure pleasure — simply collect new cards to build decks with as you play GWENT; no strings attached.

STUNNING, ALL ACROSS THE BOARD

Beautiful, hand-drawn art and mesmerizing visual effects breathe life into every card, battle and battlefield, making GWENT fun to play and every duel a joy to watch.

SKILL BEATS LUCK

Crush the enemy with brute strength or outsmart them with clever tricks — no matter your deck, GWENT’s unique round-based gameplay opens up a world of strategic possibilities to play with when fighting for victory.

MORE THAN ONE WAY TO PLAY

Whether it’s a quick online game against a friend, a highly competitive PvP challenge, or something new and wildly adventurous like the Arena, GWENT’s selection of game modes has got you covered.

EASILY SATISFYING, ANYTHING BUT EASY

Sling cards from your deck across two tactically distinct rows — melee and ranged. Gather more points in the duel against your opponent to win a round. Win two out of three rounds to win the battle. It won’t be easy, but no one said it should be.

NO HOLDING BACK, NO HOLDING HANDS

You start with 10 cards from your deck in hand, able to play each card right from the start. It’s up to you to open the game with your strongest unit, or save the best for later in the fight. How will your deck look and what will your strategy be?

The game requires an online connection to play and offers optional in-game purchases.

Great game, poor execution

The overall game is great on so many leveles. the Witcher feeling, effects, graphics..., I really love it. But since the release of Master Mirror there are so many small and anoying issues.. from not being able to get to store, constant quest bugs, deck selecting and so on. And not to mention the new unbalanced cards... Removing a row cleansing effect, and then adding cards that apply row effect on both lanes and a card that can apply row effect for 4 turns, while nerfing other row effects to 3 turns, like really? And cards that can't have a status? You might as well just remove the purify mechanic as well alongside with poison and lock. Wild hunt is super imballanced.

In march 2018 this game died...

Exiting the BETA and completely reworking the game killed her... How nice she was in BETA and what happened to her after that... The decision to remove 3 rows was the greatest failure

Fun at first, meta steadily more toxic

Started playing about a year ago, almost 200 hours played. Never reached higher than rank 8. Pin me for a casual player, in other words. Gwent has some seriously unique mechanics that make it very interesting at first. The more you play and the more expansions get released, however, the more it's strengths become weaknesses. At least in other card games, you can play several cards a turn, or leverage active interrupts during the opponent's turn to try and break his combo or get your own off the ground. Gwent is the card game equivalent of trench warfare. With every new expansion, the number of viable decks even in mid-ranks seems to shrink. Because the core rules of the game are so limiting, the only competitive option is to buy into wathever new mechanic is introduced. To clarify, it's not that more and more cards get obsolete - this is natural. The issue, to me at least, is that a higher and higher % of cards get rendered irrelevant with each new expansion. Gwent is a good game, but from my perspective it's currently neither better nor worse than any other card game on the market. It is, however, quite frustrating and limited, so it gets 2 stars from me.

For Fans of The Witcher and D-TCGs

Hi, Fans of The Witcher and D-TCGs or specifically people who liked the Gwent mini-game series, this is a nice game. Also it's not pay to win and you do get a lot of stuff for free. But I am very disappointing that I got back to playing this after a year and bought a season pass for Triss' Journey and apparently all we are getting in the 'STORY' section is a single picture without even a caption and not a single line of text? Really CD-project Red? That's fucking lame as hell

The community ruined it

Gwent has always had it's flaws when it comes to balancing, but ever since the community took over and the "Balance Council" became a thing, this game has gotten worse by the week. If you're wondering what the community has been doing to balance the game, well, they haven't. Instead of buffing unplayable and weak cards, they've focused squarely on buffing Nilfgaard despite the fact that Nilfgaard is- and always has been one of the strongest factions in the game. I've played Gwent for many years, and it's a shame that, of all thing, the players themselves ruined it.
