FREE TO PLAY THAT’S WORTH YOUR TIME
A fair and fun progression system turns the effort of building a competitive collection of cards into pure pleasure — simply collect new cards to build decks with as you play GWENT; no strings attached.
STUNNING, ALL ACROSS THE BOARD
Beautiful, hand-drawn art and mesmerizing visual effects breathe life into every card, battle and battlefield, making GWENT fun to play and every duel a joy to watch.
SKILL BEATS LUCK
Crush the enemy with brute strength or outsmart them with clever tricks — no matter your deck, GWENT’s unique round-based gameplay opens up a world of strategic possibilities to play with when fighting for victory.
MORE THAN ONE WAY TO PLAY
Whether it’s a quick online game against a friend, a highly competitive PvP challenge, or something new and wildly adventurous like the Arena, GWENT’s selection of game modes has got you covered.
EASILY SATISFYING, ANYTHING BUT EASY
Sling cards from your deck across two tactically distinct rows — melee and ranged. Gather more points in the duel against your opponent to win a round. Win two out of three rounds to win the battle. It won’t be easy, but no one said it should be.
NO HOLDING BACK, NO HOLDING HANDS
You start with 10 cards from your deck in hand, able to play each card right from the start. It’s up to you to open the game with your strongest unit, or save the best for later in the fight. How will your deck look and what will your strategy be?
The game requires an online connection to play and offers optional in-game purchases.
I don`t know why but after gold immunity update, Gwent was always less and lees fun to play. After monthes of waiting, Homecoming was far from what players was expecting (in a bad meaning of that). Many players(including me) retired from game. But i`m here to assure you that now Gwent is what all players from beta were hoping from Homecoming. If after Gold immunity upd. Gwent was looking like Hearthtone for me, now it`s more like an interactive chess game, which is good and fun(again: INTERACTIVE chess game). Right now there are many fun decks with different playstyles. But i have only one complain - faction archetypes of decks are looking mostly the same(5-10 cards from 25 total). yes, it was also in beta, but now, because of provision limit, it is more sensible for me. so right now i give the game 4.5/5
I played the beta. Too much has changed without any sort of explanation to reorient me into the game. I have no idea how to build decks anymore because the cards aren't displayed in the way they were in beta for example. When I go to use the 97K mill points, all it does is display what I have and not what I can create. If this isn't where I can go to craft new cards, it should tell me this, since this is how it was before. Its like when windows decided to roll out windows 8 from windows 7 and removed the search bar. It was made it impenetrable for someone not used to it and incomprehensibly frustrating.
I'm sure e game is fun for people who can take the time to slog their way through all the changes and watch youtube videos on how to even use the basic tools relating to deck building now but I can't be bothered to do this at this point. Something should be done to facilitate this because its jarring and makes it too frustrating to be bothered with.
GWENT and LoR are the best CCGs on the market right now based on your personal preference.
Pros:
*Great strategical gameplay with no mana curve easy mode plays.
*Very balanced compared to other CCGs with the frequent balance patches.
*Faction identity are strong with no copy paste styles between factions.
*No mana system.
*Very little RNG presence and barley have effect on game result.
*Draw RNG are minimized to the least.
*Generous economy, with 20$ only I got full faction collection in 1 month only.
*Ranked are more interesting when you reach pro rank compared to other CCGs due to the rule of playing with 4 factions to unlock your full MMR.
Cons:
*The paper rock scissors triangle of power between control/engines/point-slam could get a little bit boring and RNGiesh in terms of matchmaking.
*Long periods between expansions could be boring to some people.
yeah past tense USED to love it, now they've changed the rules and added stupid microtransaction which are just annoying as heck. however you can play around that. I used to be in love with this game when it first came out, and i'm inlove with it's set up in the main witcher games. Be warned it's not longer that came it's a came that has the cards that look like it, but it no longer follows the same rules. But again not the main issue, the game has become full of players who like to sit there letting the timer run down for no reason, and worst of all and this is the worst, somehow playing with illegal decks, and we're talking 3 or 4 geralts in a deck when the deck builder only allows 1. sadly it seems cheaters have ben allowed to run loose in the game. and for me Gwent is now runined by pointless and needless changes as well as time wasters and cheaters. and i've been playing since the beta, the beta was much better then this.
I love this game. It's absolutely fun, addictive and worthwhile.
While at times I get a bit confused about a certain card or action, I generally figure out what to do.
I kept on losing in the beggining, but once you start learning the strategies, you'll start winning in no time.
I've only had one issue, but this is probably just me, but the loading screen when starting a match sometimes freezes and stays there...but probably me.
