Loved the story, world, combat, and voice acting, which really is the essential part. The biggest flaw for me was the level design. It didn't really stop me from enjoying the points above, which is why i'm hesitant to remove a full point, but if I could half a point would have quite deserved. It's not that they're ugly, they just feel way too much like video game levels. It's probably partly due to how the game sits somewhere between open world and old school 1level/quest format. I don't miss that old school aspect I guess. Like I said, didn't hurt my enjoyment that much, but it's the one thing I'd like to see improve if a sequel comes out.

You can adjust your character just enough to personalize it. The scenary is nice but up close characters and npcs can look very distorted and reflected light can be almost painful. The tutorial phase of about 5 levels is a very interesting story with a good amount of combat as a small party coaleses around you. Then the game suddenly becomes Greed Souls or something just as you are about to embark on your journey. The build and combat you spent hours developing is useless as you single-handed face a gigantic ridiculously deadly foe. I don't know which developers need to hear this but it takes zero skill to force player death. The art of an rpg is a game that allows you to progress effectively in different ways and is challenging without needing to endlessly replay the same stupid fight. I don't know exactly what you all are making. Not recommended.

I enjoyed playing Greedfall, but there was some things that held it back; probably the most jarring was the many grammar errors that were encountered; which took me out of the experience. Been playing on hard, but even that can get too easy if you're loaded on magic potions/traps as well as bullets (dodge is your friend). I want to give this a better review... but it sadly does not really deserve it. Individual elements are good - characters, story elements, advancement system, but the overall experience does not pull them together well. The combat system is poor, and the dialogue is quite odd at times. And as has been mentioned, other elements of the interface are clunky, and poorly explained.

A polished mix of magical fantasy and 17th century European period piece. Voice acting, motion capture, and writing are superb. World building is fully realized. NPCs are delightful. Not an open-world RPG, however the different map locations are fairly large. An ok amount of loot, weapons, and armor, but I found pretty much everything the game had to offer by the end. The party system encourages mixing it up, either through NPC storylines or situational skills. The overall story didn't stick the landing for me, but the overall journey kept me intrigued for dozens of hours and side missions were rewarding. I didn't know much about the game when I picked it up on sale and didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem.
