Before man climbed down from the trees to shop in megastores and drink cappuccino, before the Earth wadded itself into a cool blue ball, before the Moon even existed, there was the Island. The Island, a massive fragment of a long-lost planet, hurtling blindly through space. Upon the surface of this paradise wanders the giant, Kabuto. Little does Kabuto know that the Island was home to others before him. In the oceans, there dwells a matriarchal race called the Sea Reapers. In their pride, they created Kabuto, as a defense against intruders. But Kabuto became conscious of himself, his loneliness, his pain - and he went berserk.
Space castaways, the Meccs piloted their ship through space, looking for their missing friends. If you haven’t guessed already, they ended up on the Island. Faced with yet another unscheduled layover while on their way to Planet Majorca, the Meccs decide to make the best of their temporary home. Just their luck - the natives are already embroiled in their own little war, and the Mecc visitors are most unwelcome!
Meccaryns... Sea Reapers... Kabuto... One island isn’t big enough for the three of them.

Chances are you've already heard of this incredible game. If you haven't, this is an Action RTS hybrid with asymmetrical gameplay in which you play as one of four very distinct races, the last of which is an all consuming giant.
This game was (and still is) really awesome! It's hilarious, it has pretty great graphics for the year it was created. It had the best water graphics back then. It's filled with really great jokes. I am disappointed that there's not many friends that know about this game, they never heard about it which is shame.
Great game, but i have one problem, i have Windows 10 Home Licence and then I launch that game all is good, but in game then we play for our hero with jetpack my mouse sensetive is very small...but in the past where i have Windows 8.1, that problem with slow mouse doesn't exist.... =( i don't know what to do... increasing ,mouse speed in game menu isn's help, and increase mouse speed by system OS setups the same, doesn't have any effects.... but what more fun is, that mouse speed in game menu work excellent, but in game it is very slow =(
Inspite all of this, the game is good and best ))))
I decided to get this game on GoG because it was one of those games that I remember reading about back in 2000, but never got to play. I've been revisiting old games a lot, usualy to find that memories are best left as memories :-)
After playing Giants: Citizen Kabuto half an hour I was pretty sure that this was a bad purchase. The controls are too old school, and your keyboard hand is way overloaded while you only use two buttons on the mouse. The weapons were flimsy and the graphics were kind boring... like the game has a way too low polygon count, even for its time.
Due to the lousy save game system I lost my first 2 hours of gameplay. (Note: Do NOT click Start new game... accidently or for fun.. because it will wipe all the save games of the profile.)
BUT, I decided to give it another go, and this time I got alot futher into the game. I noticed that the graphics were probably kind of low because the worlds were huge and there was a lot going on. Lots of enemies, destructable buildings etc. The game started to amaze me.
You quickly get a lot of new weapons and gear to play with, and the game will enable you to make some rather interesting tactical decisions.
Due to not having any real save system (only restart from the beginning of every level) the game is too difficult compared to todays standards. You often end up playing the same level a lot, only to figure out how to avoid certain areas, sneak slowly and snipe everything , and to "expoit" the generous shops that allow you to get all the ammo and health you need.
This missing save system is somehow also the strength of the game. Because it forces you to attempt to "solve" each level in different ways.
The humor in the game great. It seems a bit misplaced that though both the aliens and the player characters speak cockney english, but it works anyway. The story is like stories are in a computer game.. a little boring.. and filled with misc. reasons why you must do this and that.
Definitely worth checking out.
This game is hilarious. It is filled to the brim with over the top British humor (think Monty Python). From what I remember the game play itself is nothing overly fantastic, but it is without a doubt fun. I definitely recommend this game if you enjoy British style humor.
