New and Improved

Deluxe Edition Includes:
  • Artbook
  • Soundtrack
  • Rocket Star Corporation DLC

In a near future ravaged by wars, corrupt regimes and devastating pollution, influential corporations have created the Genesis program in a last-ditch attempt to save humanity.

As the Captain of a Genesis starship, you journey into uncharted space on the ultimate mission. Build and manage a space vessel, farm resources, deal with terrifying alien infestations, clone creatures and explore a vast, randomly generated universe.

Go Rogue

Huge, randomised galaxies ensure every run in Genesis Alpha One is unique. Choose one of three difficulties or tailor the game to your playstyle with the Custom Game Mode. Discover new planets, circumvent asteroid fields and survive encounters with the Mechanics and Framen, space pirates who will board your ship to destroy your ship and all its inhabitants. Death is the end and once all your clones are dead, the mission is over. However, you will carry through artefacts unearthed into your next playthrough as well as unlock new corporations, making you more powerful with each attempt.

Build, Upgrade, Explore

Starting with a small vessel, you’ll have to build and maintain an intergalactic ark by combining dozens of upgradable spaceship modules including crew quarters, workshops, hangars, clone labs and greenhouses.
Using an intuitive building menu, easily snap together the pieces of your ship to tailor it to your playstyle. Develop your vessel and then explore your creation in first person.

Battle Alien Infestations

Alien infestations can spread quickly, contaminating the ship and crew. It’s imperative to wipe them out before you become overwhelmed and your ship is destroyed. An arsenal of weapons and defences can be researched to help you fight the alien threat. Unleash an array of powerful weaponry, research alien diseases to heal your crew, equip new abilities and deploy warbots to devastate the alien hordes.

Clone and Create New Lifeforms

As your ship grows, so must your crew. Using ground-breaking cloning technology, your crew will expand to meet the needs of the ship.
Loot DNA samples from the aliens you encounter across the galaxy and splice them with members of your crew to give humanity a chance to prosper with abilities far beyond what was previously imagined.

Delve Deep Into Vastness of Space For Valuable Resources

In order to expand your ship and sustain your crew, you must explore planets fraught with danger. Gather elements such as Copper and Uranium and harvest plants to sustain life aboard your vessel. You may also find alien artefacts and intel from those explorers that have gone before, and not lived to tell the tale.

Great ideas, lesser execution

I love that it has survival, exploration, crafting and building elements. But it lacks details and logical ui. It would be obvious you should be able to issue orders to crew members from anywhere but no. Have to run around and assign them to modules. Also the infestation that happens is a pain in the ass to clear out. Not that it's hard, but you have to do it yourself. No way of telling crew to do it. It gets old quickly. With more polish this game could've been great.

Fun Idea, Tiring and Repetitive Gameplay

So lets break it down. Pros and Cons Pros 1 - The game is novel, both in experience and design 2 - The ship design is interesting and extensive, allowing you to create something truly interesting. Cons 1 - Repetitive, this can not be underlined enough. Everything is done over and over, often in rapid succession, with no real variation. 2 - Alien Infestations, they will turn up and they will spread rapidly. At the beginning this is manageable, but as the ship grows larger they end up growing, and spreading, faster than you can personally purge them and your crew won't help contain them at all. You'll be crawling through the *very* extensive maintenance ducts, which will grow ever larger as your ship does, to kill them and have others elsewhere create several new nests in the time it takes you to wipe out one. 3 - Uninteresting expeditions. These are supposed to be the hook and line, the thing that gives variation to the game, but they genuinely do not. You arrive on planet, you mine a resource, you get attacked by aliens, you mine resources, you get attacked, you leave, you try to stop the aliens that followed on your ship from spreading into your ship. Rinse and repeat.

Unique and interesting experience

So I got it when it was free on GoG, did't really think much about it. But decided to try it... Game play is a bit repetitive(but fun!), get resources, expand your ship, upgrade/research new clones and weapons, explore more galaxy, kill pirates, repeat until you Genesis(settle a new earth). Pay no attention to the reviews about cleaning out spores/aliens from your ship all the time, it's really simple to play well and NOT have to do that. You will only see a small part of any planet(real small). Game play is that little part of the planet and on your ship or on a pirate ship. You will get to shoot a lot. AI is not great, but you will be out numbered at times(pirate ship and going solo on planets). Each play you will unlock more things for your next play until you unlock everything(rougelite), there is a lot to unlock.

Great Ideas But Lacking

The game isnt bad its just feels a bit empty dont get me wrong its worth a try but late game can become too much repetitive and annoying. For example the bugs follow you all the way to your ship you need to kill them can be hard to track sometimes you can put a turret but theres no permanent solution like it would've been nice if they introduce a pest control unit or machine of some sort because killing them manually is just not fun there are a few tricks you can find online on youtube have them in one place but still you have to get rid of them. The combat is okayish does feel a little clunky. But its the basebuilding and crew management its where this game shines you can assign roles build levels design layout of your entire base so yeah its fun in that regard.

fan since release, but i am losing it....

sorry for my english. i have follow this game since the first trailer in 2017 and i have to say i was BLOWN AWAY. im a big fan of sci fi especially literature on the vein of:space revelation, blindsight, rifters (trilogy),foundation trilogy, xeelee saga, and many others. alpha genesis one was (and i still have hope it is) a great and refreshing concept :genetic crew, build space ship, land on planets, gather resources from space, fight aliens boarding ship and alien infestation. grab two of any of those concept develop them to the fullest and you would have make a good game PERIOD. ALPHA GENESIS ONE takes all of them and is just...........F-I-N-E. a novice of all trades but master of none. i have play this game since the beginning and it has come from a mediocre to just fine game. ill give you the positives of this game as Genesis Alpha One Deluxe Edition first release. +great atmosphere (you really feel like the captain of a ship with a mission) +good graphics (unreal engine do i have to say more?) +incredible units, characters, enemy designs. (this game has passion behind it i can see it) +Amazing concept (you will NOT find a game like this) but thats about it. the negatives about the game -terrible infestation control (i tend to isolate the modules that i know will bring infestation very far away from the rest of the ship, somehow the infestation appears right on my safest far away modules) - soundtrack is decent, sound in generail its just MEH....(im on a ship i should be capable to hear all kind of sounds from the ship: modules creaking by pressure, computers making all kind of sounds in the background to keep the ship on going, there is a crew maybe an alarm about some incident or announcement to the crew. and dont make me start with weapons) -planet landing (its just terrible and repetitive as hell i send the crew all the time) -the minigame with the computers on most modules (at this point i feel THAT minigame its just hurting the game) good but not for everyone
