Description
Become a made man as you vie for power in a Chicago-like town during the prohibition era. Gangsters is the strategy game where crime pays--and with dividends! You can don the knuckle dusters and “persuade” the local business owners to pay you for “protection” services. You can get your hands even more dirty and navigate in the cutthroat world of politics. Or simply go for the throat as you order your wiseguys to execute your enemies in the streets and show the city who’s “da boss”. Gangsters gives you all the power you need to get things done.

Played in a vast city filled with over 5,000 individual characters, Gangsters feature real-time action in a highly detailed isometric terrain. The game sports an easy-to use strategy planning interface, to authentically recreate the seedy, violent, and ruthless world of gangland mobsters. Remember, real power is never given, it’s taken!

2021 - Game works, but not very fun

I was hoping for a fun management sim, but this game really plays like a RTS wargame. You can throw all the different crimes, charecters, and actions out the window. If you're not booming the size of your gang in the first four weeks, you're going to be overrun. Forget learning your gangster's names, dealing with their happiness, promoting/demoting, etc. You'll just be serving them up in the gang war that's about to break out no matter what..

Completely Unplayable

Need to work on whatever emuloatiuon software you are using cos this game is completely unplayable in its current format. Really disappointing cos its a 25 year old game and not exactly complicated. Waste of a fiver.

I've been waiting for this!

Ever since I voted for it in the wishlist I was hoping to see this added to the GOG catalog. Not just so I could buy it since I still have it installed but to see how other people would react to one of my childhood gems. Gangsters is by far the best game of this granted rather small genre. It's really captivating and if you allow yourself to get into the game it will consume lots of hours. It is challenging and I'm sure even now I haven't figured out the best way to run the mob. Especially since the AI doesn't fuck around. You either pull yourself together or you're out of the game. But in that case you'll just start a new run.
