Frostpunk

Some games make resource management fun, and some don't. This is one of the games that don't. Eventually I was glad all my people were dead. Buy on sale...maybe...if you like these types of games.

After 30+ hours I finished the main story. Some might say its a short game but they added lots of new contents after the initial release. The endless mode can keep you busy for a longtime. If you like city building/survive type of game. You will love this game. It worth the 30 dollar price. If you can get it on sale its a no brainer.

It would really make you feel like world is ending and there is no hope, it's not easy to meet all people demands and almost always something is going wrong. Graphics are beautiful. I would be happy if laws and technology tree were bigger, I can't get off feeling that there could be more building types. Anyway, game is great and I highly recommend it

This isn't a fun city builder game, this is a game where your choices are between bad and worse. You can't win, you are constantly blind sided by side quest and tasks that have no context or clear direction. There is no tutorial to speak of and you are punished for doing as instructed. Don't get me wrong, dystopian games can be great, but there is no fun to be had here. It's just "oh, now that thing you made is broken so you fail" and "here make a decision, either choice will negatively impact your experience". This game is a perfect example of why I wait for games to go on sale. FrostPunk 2 ?!? NO THANKS!

Space around the generator or steam hubs is precious. Unless you go through a really tedious process to cheese the grid, many buildings will take up significantly more space depending on how the game rounds up the grid. It's done to maintain asthetics at the sacrifice of screwing you out of precious space. If they would just increase housing/worker capacity of these buildings based on how much extra space the building took up then it'd be fine. Scouts carrying precious steam cores who arrive a dreadnought which requies steam cores to enter safely, don't get the option because the cores aren't at your base yet. So they get sent to their death and you also lose the steam cores they're carrying. Very frustrating. Usually these things would be enough for me to flip the table and be done with it, but otherwise this is such a great game with relaxing gameplay I look past it. I usually don't care about sound or music, but this does both well. I love the art and the little bits of writing. It does a good job of creating an interesting backstory without being tedious or on the nose, something that many games try but don't quite get right.
