We are very grateful for the amazing attention Fallout London is receiving and want to thank you all for the great feedback! We're working hard to fix the reported technical issues and expect to release an update soon. Thank you for your patience and support!
Many of the reported issues appear to stem from missing one of the installation steps outlined below. While we work on improving the installation experience, please ensure you follow all the steps carefully.
- Team FOLON®
Fallout London is a total conversion mod made by Team FOLON® for Fallout 4 GOTY and requires you to own the base game on either GOG or Steam.
How to install and play Fallout London:
If you own Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition on Steam, please click here to access the installation's instructions provided by Team FOLON®. You will have to downgrade your version, then install the Fallout: London via our dedicated launcher.
Install Fallout London via GOG GALAXY and launch it.
Follow the launcher’s instructions, and enjoy!
A Polite Disclaimer
In typical imperial British fashion, Fallout: London will take over your Fallout 4 installation. Installing Fallout: London will make irreversible changes to the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition installation. You’ll also need to disable cloud saves (as the save folder is shared between the game and the mod). If you’d like to play the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition again, you’ll need to uninstall the game and the mod, and then reinstall Fallout 4: GOTY Edition.
Summary
Fallout: London lets you explore a dishevelled London set in the Fallout universe. It overhauls Fallout 4 with a new story, new weapons, London-centric items and a vast recreation of the ruined city to explore.
Fallout: London is a free total conversion mod for Fallout 4, available to anyone who owns the base game and all of its DLCs. It is developed non-commercially by Team FOLON, many of whom are proud London residents or expats.

I had to install Buffout 4 mod to fix crashes after the beginning section with the train crash.
Afterwards the game has ran mostly fine aside from a handful of crashes (1 per 5 hours or so), with everything on ultra except shadow distance which was set to medium.
In addition, these is a bug with HP being reduced too much after the train crash, which can be corrected with a console command thankfully.
Given this a mod and not an actual game, I can't hold these sorts of technical issues against it too much, not when the actual gameplay has been interesting.
The British setting is interesting, with decent quest design for the most part and unique atmosphere.
Writing is decent to good, depending on quest.
Game is difficult at start, with scarse ammo and enemies that you don't want to necessarily fight.
Combat at early parts of the game is as much about resource conservation as it is about killing enemies. Melee and headshots are essential. Later on, guns can be used more freely once you have access to some storage and a reloading bench to make ammo.
Still, given the various issues and bugs, I'd recommend anyone on the fence wait for a few months for patches and fixes to be released rather than grapple with bugs and broken features.
Disclaimer, I haven''t finished the game as yet, but I have played around 18 hours so far. London is absolutely stunning and by far more detailed than the Commonwealth. The quests are interesting and it seems to be almost as easy to get sidetracked by exciting side-quests. Can't say much about the NPC's as I stick with Churchill and sent the others (so far there 3 more of them) to my settlement on the London Bridge.
Info for those that have frequent CTD's install the following mods:
- Buffout 4 but the correct version which is: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/47359
- Plugin Preloader; the NG version one (0.3) works fine: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/48078?tab=files
- Weapon Debris Crash fix; download and install version v1.2 : https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/48078?tab=files
These three mods were a game changer with CTD's, however it is important that you install the correct versions of these mods. Additionally, you might have to install them manually and into your Falllout 4 GOTY - folder. At least that's what I did and the game (with the mod) works fine now.
The good:
- stunning City
- detailed interiors
- a ton to do and get lost in
- Cool new and very British Outfits and Weapons (the latter being a bit on the weak side though).
Room for improvement:
- obviously the instructions for non mod-savvy people
- LOD was lousy initially until I regenerated LOD myself with xLODGen. Especially the iconic Tower-bridge looked like a washed out beige lego-block.
- It doesn't really make sense that one cannot use the ladders during combat.
- Churchill gets lost a lot....
Another review said to try changing display down to 120hz since game originally had issues with fps, this worked for me and havent had any crashes since.
This is a new vegas level mod, you want another fallout game? here you go! Disregard the negative reviews about crashing, they failed the intelligence check and couldn't follow the well spelled out installation directions.
I am an avid Fallout lover. When i played Fallout as a kid, I fell in love almost immediately. Fast forward time and I am still enjoying every game in the series. However 1 game has always stuck out and that was New Vegas. I'm sure plenty of Fallout lovers will agree with me.
We finally have a new(unique) Fallout experience after many years of waiting patiently plus release date delay because of a game breaking update thanks to you-know-who. I can say that feeling I got when tumble-weeding Legion members through the Mojave Wastelands is the same feeling I have when I'm stomping through London.
I must say, Bravo! A huge shout out and thanks to this Mod Team!
I downloaded Fo4 via steam and FoLon through GoG. It was very smooth when following the installation steps. I had no issues except I use Vortex mod manager. The only issue was my mistake because first off i loaded into Sanctuary bathroom. The only thing I had to go do was go into Vortex and activate the Plugins.
