We are very grateful for the amazing attention Fallout London is receiving and want to thank you all for the great feedback! We're working hard to fix the reported technical issues and expect to release an update soon. Thank you for your patience and support!
Many of the reported issues appear to stem from missing one of the installation steps outlined below. While we work on improving the installation experience, please ensure you follow all the steps carefully.
- Team FOLON®
Fallout London is a total conversion mod made by Team FOLON® for Fallout 4 GOTY and requires you to own the base game on either GOG or Steam.
How to install and play Fallout London:
If you own Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition on Steam, please click here to access the installation's instructions provided by Team FOLON®. You will have to downgrade your version, then install the Fallout: London via our dedicated launcher.
Install Fallout London via GOG GALAXY and launch it.
Follow the launcher’s instructions, and enjoy!
A Polite Disclaimer
In typical imperial British fashion, Fallout: London will take over your Fallout 4 installation. Installing Fallout: London will make irreversible changes to the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition installation. You’ll also need to disable cloud saves (as the save folder is shared between the game and the mod). If you’d like to play the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition again, you’ll need to uninstall the game and the mod, and then reinstall Fallout 4: GOTY Edition.

Fallout: London is a free total conversion mod for Fallout 4, available to anyone who owns the base game and all of its DLCs. It is developed non-commercially by Team FOLON, many of whom are proud London residents or expats.

Why buy on GOG.COM?

I own the Game on GOG , instalation was a breeze, I did a clean install of Fallout 4 and then installed the Mod.
The game runs nice and smooth for me and i have enjoyed what i have played.
With some trepidation, I ran this mod after reading lots of negative reviews. Well, I've just played 2 hours straight without a single crash and only a few small negatives. So what's the magic trick?
Well, I bought the GOG version of FO4 as downpatching my Steam version sounded like a headache. I then installed FO4 and then ran it once, setting it to Ultra settings and then changed the hud colour in the in-game menu. I did not start a game, just booted it up until I got to the menu and exited.
Then I downloaded and installed Fallout London. Booted it up, and played. The only setting I changed was once again changing the hud colour.
My setup isn't brilliant, but it works for previous-gen games like FO4:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Mobo: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max
RAM: 32gb DDR4 (1600 MHz)
GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 Super (6gb)
Storage: SSD drives
OS: Windows 10 Pro
Monitors: Two 27" 1440p monitors connected via DisplayPort, but I switch one off while playing.
That's it. Nothing brilliant, but gameplay was buttery smooth with no issues whatsoever.
Now, what didn't I like? Two things...
1. The loading screens are ridiculously long. Hopefully this can be optimised in a future update.
2. Walking down streets in downton London between rows of terraced houses and not a single one can be entered. Made it feel less like a big city, though I appreciate the scale of this project and creating even more interiors would have pushed release out even further. But still, it was a little disappointing.
Anyway, if you have the Steam version and aren't getting anywhere, I'd recommend trying the GOG version. You can always get a refund if you still can't get it to work.
So, here’s how it’s been. Complete God honest review. It crashed for me, a lot! But! That being said, here’s what I did to remedy this.
1. Disable ReBar in your bios. Trust me.
2. Download buffout and the plugin sorter, install them correctly.
3. Run from the f4se_loader in fallout 4’s directory. Not fallout London.
After that, only 1 crash in almost 3hrs.
Now onto the meat and potatoes, so far the story is interesting enough. More compelling that base fallout 4. The voice acting is superb, world building is superb, and map design in once again great. I would love more exploitable buildings. Some of them I’ve seen are quite small. But as it’s free, I’m not complaining. It’s a lot more brutal difficulty wise than base fallout 4 which I love. It creates a far more engaging survival scenario. I look forward to what the team is going to bring to the table next! Thank you to everybody who made this mod possible. Hats off, mind the gap.
Fallout London stands out as one of the most impressive additions to the Fallout universe, even though it's "just" a mod. The developers have infused a wealth of details and gameplay improvements that enhance the experience, making it one of the best Fallout titles to date. The post-apocalyptic atmosphere of London is beautifully captured with carefully designed environments and an engaging story.
However, there are significant issues that mar the experience. The game is plagued by frequent crashes, making it almost unplayable. This is particularly frustrating as it disrupts the flow of the game and often leads to progress loss.
Another drawback is the lack of German localization. There is neither German voice acting nor text, which is disappointing for a game that relies heavily on dialogue. In an age where advanced AI technologies can facilitate faster and easier translations, the absence of at least German text is a letdown. This would have significantly improved accessibility for German-speaking players.
Despite these shortcomings, Fallout London remains a remarkable and ambitious project, showcasing the potential within the modding community. For those interested, it might be wise to wait a few more months until the crashes are patched, and perhaps a German text option, at least subtitles, is added.
