We are very grateful for the amazing attention Fallout London is receiving and want to thank you all for the great feedback! We're working hard to fix the reported technical issues and expect to release an update soon. Thank you for your patience and support!
Many of the reported issues appear to stem from missing one of the installation steps outlined below. While we work on improving the installation experience, please ensure you follow all the steps carefully.
- Team FOLON®
Fallout London is a total conversion mod made by Team FOLON® for Fallout 4 GOTY and requires you to own the base game on either GOG or Steam.
How to install and play Fallout London:
If you own Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition on Steam, please click here to access the installation's instructions provided by Team FOLON®. You will have to downgrade your version, then install the Fallout: London via our dedicated launcher.
Install Fallout London via GOG GALAXY and launch it.
Follow the launcher’s instructions, and enjoy!
A Polite Disclaimer
In typical imperial British fashion, Fallout: London will take over your Fallout 4 installation. Installing Fallout: London will make irreversible changes to the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition installation. You’ll also need to disable cloud saves (as the save folder is shared between the game and the mod). If you’d like to play the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition again, you’ll need to uninstall the game and the mod, and then reinstall Fallout 4: GOTY Edition.
Summary
Fallout: London lets you explore a dishevelled London set in the Fallout universe. It overhauls Fallout 4 with a new story, new weapons, London-centric items and a vast recreation of the ruined city to explore.
Fallout: London is a free total conversion mod for Fallout 4, available to anyone who owns the base game and all of its DLCs. It is developed non-commercially by Team FOLON, many of whom are proud London residents or expats.

After spending all day playing the vanilla mod and enjoying it, I decided to start adding other mods to it. Oh lord that was a mistake.
I use MO2 to mod Fallout 4 and couldn't get another instance for London. I finally figured it out and then started adding the recommended mods. Unfortunately it seems any F4SE plugin mod needs to be manually installed as the folder is in the wrong place than what MO2 needs.
For those who are crashing: if you have Buffout 4 installed, make sure you remove baka scrapheap (both files) from the folder: (your drive)\GOG Games\Fallout 4 GOTY\Data\F4SE\plugins
As far as gameplay goes, you will rely on melee more than guns. This does take some getting used to, but is doable. It's nice to see another aspect, and makes you think to save your ammo when you really need it. I had to put the game on "very easy" just to get used to punching my way out.
If you're an American, the English in the game will really test your knowledge about British English and the words they use.
I look forward to playing this game when I have time and to finally get to the ending. Hopefully there aren't a lot of plot holes like the Boston version and you'll have more playability in it once you're finished the first time.
It crashed just before the title screen after escaping the metro.
I installed buffout 4 but it keeps crashing.
At least it got past the title screen. After the thirst consecutive crash just one minute
after the title screen, i decided to quit it.
I shall wait for the developers to release some big patch
before it try this game again.
I've only been able to play a couple hours due to constant crashes. Fast travel? Crash. Go through a door? Crash. Be in the overworld a little too long? Crash. Recommended additional mods such as Buffout4 didn't help.
When the game didn't crash when going through doors, the loading times have been terrible. Multi-minute load times when entering new cells, I would occasionally have the game finally load to find myself in an idle animation. Other times, the game would crash after loading for a long time. I tried thy Long Load Times fix for Fallout London, and it helped, somewhat. But it just meant that the game crashed faster without the wait.
What I have been able to play has been wonderful, and I genuinely want to play more. However, it just isn't currently in an enjoyable state. Is it playable? Yes, technically. Is it enjoyable? No. The crashes are too frequent to allow for any immersion into the world. I'll retry it after they fix the crashes.
No crashes for me, but the frame rate is nauseatingly low. Installed on a RAID 0 m.2 drive with a 14th gen i9, 64G Ram and a 4090. It's like watching a slide show. Tried to tweak the ini files and it got a tiny bit better, but there's no way I can play this without vomiting every few minutes.
Unfortunately I cannot recommend this game/mod at this time. It is an extreme hassle to set up, I've spent the past two days trying to get it to work, at least six hours today alone trying to downgrade my copy of Fallout 4 to the recommended version using the instructions listed on the Fallout London website.
At long last I managed to get it working, saw the intro video, the title screen, the opening cutscene, and finally character creation. Unfortunately that is as far as I was able to get as after creating my character the game will not progress past the loading screen. Trying to load an auto save yields the same results.
This could be a good game, I know that a lot of heart and hard work has been put into its development, but in its current state it is far too difficult and time consuming to even set up and play.
I hope that installation is made easier in the future and that the game is made more stable.
