We are very grateful for the amazing attention Fallout London is receiving and want to thank you all for the great feedback! We're working hard to fix the reported technical issues and expect to release an update soon. Thank you for your patience and support!
Many of the reported issues appear to stem from missing one of the installation steps outlined below. While we work on improving the installation experience, please ensure you follow all the steps carefully.
- Team FOLON®
Fallout London is a total conversion mod made by Team FOLON® for Fallout 4 GOTY and requires you to own the base game on either GOG or Steam.
In typical imperial British fashion, Fallout: London will take over your Fallout 4 installation. Installing Fallout: London will make irreversible changes to the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition installation. You’ll also need to disable cloud saves (as the save folder is shared between the game and the mod). If you’d like to play the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition again, you’ll need to uninstall the game and the mod, and then reinstall Fallout 4: GOTY Edition.
Fallout: London lets you explore a dishevelled London set in the Fallout universe. It overhauls Fallout 4 with a new story, new weapons, London-centric items and a vast recreation of the ruined city to explore.
Fallout: London is a free total conversion mod for Fallout 4, available to anyone who owns the base game and all of its DLCs. It is developed non-commercially by Team FOLON, many of whom are proud London residents or expats.
There has never been a better time to sample the capital’s delights! Fallout: London lets you explore the wonders of the city 160 years after the bombs have dropped, and 40 years before the events of Fallout 3. You can now reimagine Fallout in a London-centric universe, interacting with a brave new world of London-based locations, stories, factions, creatures, weapons, and gameplay mechanics.
The Gentry-dominated London stands on a knife-edge, and you may be the key to which way the guillotine falls. Play a new story set in London with a fresh character beginning, numerous conflicting factions to engage with and multiple story paths and endings with up to 90 hours of gameplay. Just be aware of what terrible secrets you may uncover in the shadowy gaps amidst the halls of power.
Discover new weapons, creatures, clothing, items, collectables, architecture, foliage and NPCs to complete the London setting. Interact through the world with your custom Atta-boy, with a fresh interface based on the UK’s life-saving Protect and Survive nuclear information campaign.

Might be good. In a couple of years.
An utter nightmare to get to work. Spent 8 hours fiddling with this, finally got it working... and it crashes after the tutorial which is evidently a "known issue" which requires further mods to potentially fix. Avoid for now. It might be great in a few months or a year but it still needs further development.

Crashes, Crashes crashes and crash!
Just continuously crashes over and over again, Launching the game trough GOG and using the launcher makes it impossible to go past the logo cutscene, It just constantly crashes, No matter what you do. running the F4SE trough the fallout4 folder lets you get into the open world but then it will just randomly crash when following the Vanguard fellas to their "HQ" and it will repeatedly do so. Dont follow them and just go towards the "bubblegum face" people and the game will crash when arriving at the location or when you get near it. Certainly not the Shanking experience i was expecting.

Unstable, poorly balanced, and tedious
I was quite excited for this mod, that excitement quickly waned during the lengthy introduction but I still got three multi-hour sessions out of it. The mod itself is buggy, worse than release-day Fallout 4, though I was willing to put up with that given that this was an ambitious mod. You'll need to install several other mods to make this mod playable in its current state however. What is harder to stomach is the balance issues: Weapons are slower than in 4, upwards of 50% weaker, guns are too inaccurate to use at any range, and I was in a permanent ammo deficit. The absence of a starting settlement means no crafting tables, no safe storage, and thus no accumulation of resources to help deal with the absence of any useful weapons. As exploration always leads to nigh-invincible boss enemies and you cannot get to modifying weapons or carry enough stuff to pick anything new up, this means exploration is out of the question, which means there is literally nothing to do. Still, I tried activating god mode and read guides online to find a settlement to build, reasoning that perhaps I was simply unlucky, but even though there's more to build and the terrain is flatter and thus better suited for construction, there's still issues like some mandatory text tutorials being too big to fit on the screen and therefore making it impossible to build logic gates as you cannot close the tutorial message. Early weapon mods could not resolve the issues either. I had trouble getting started with the mod today, instead I kept being distracted by more enjoyable things like doing chores or re-reading old books, and given that I was enjoying Fallout 4 immensely four days ago, I find myself incapable of recommending this mod in its current state to anyone. Maybe I'll give it another go a year from now, though given that it gave a worse first impression than release-build Fallout 4, I am not confident about that. It looked interesting, even if the sound issues were grating.
