Fun-packed gameplay with humor and cliché lurking around every corner
Unique, memorable characters and stylish, cartoonish visuals
I was thrilled when I found out this game was available on GOG. I have played it every few months ever since both for nostalgia and for the simple pleasure of taking down the world with my doomsday device! MUAHAHAHAHA!
This game is unlike anything I have ever played. I had a blast non stop as it had so much to do. I would recommend this game to anyone looking for a very entertainting game.
I played this when it first came out in 2004, and it is still as addictive as it was then. Where else can you send an unassuming grandmother figure into a museum to shoot up the place and steal a invaluable piece of art......Evil Genius that's where
This is the only game I've found where global domination is the main objective - it's also the most fun I've had in ages. There may be a connection there. Experiment with different base layouts, research new insedious traps, turn agents into freaks of nature and steal indiscrimantly from across the world - evil laughter is optional, but highly encouraged!
On a technical note, this game has a few bugs that can rewin a game, so remember to save often and don't delete the autosaves. Also, you might want to have a look at some of the mods avalable. But don't let these small points put you off - this is definatly one of the most fun games ever. Even after sucessfuly taking over the world you'll want to go back and do it all again. And again. And again. And again, just for fun.
One part Dungeon Keeper. One part the Sims. One part Strategy. All heinously delightful. Evil Genius puts you in command of one of three Evil Geniuses, each with their own perks and benefits. From your secret underground base of undisclosed location, you will employ an army of yellow jumpsuited minions to go out into the world and preform your evil deeds.
With the help of Super Minions called Henchmen, you will work your way up the criminal ladder by completeing objectives and gaining notoriety. Fool snooping agents and pesky tourists with nefarious traps or casinos. Research new objects to add to your lair and protect your stolen loot. Combat super Agents from all across the globe and claim victory and infamy for yourself!
Evil Genius takes a light-hearted tongue in cheek approach to the older James Bond-esque genre. It provides a decent amount of strategy and humor. Minor glitches in the game can occasionally cause problems, but most of which have been addressed in patches already implemented in the download. Definitely a recommended item if you liked Dungeon Keeper.
