Description
Adventure deep into a sinister undermountain stronghold to rescue your true love from a horrific ritual sacrifice. As Enric the adventurer, slash your way through hordes of intelligent and fearless enemies.
Engage Kobolds, Orc masters and even a giant octopus in brutal combat as you explore dangerous dwarf mines, escape bubbling lava and pilot down treacherous underground rivers. Stretch your strength, dexterity and wits to the limit and steel yourself for the combat adventure of a lifetime.
Can you succeed in your ultimate quest? Even if, at what cost? Find out as you return to the caverns to destroy the black queen. Step into the arena and play Ogre Hockey, where the players are invincible and a Kobold is the peck.
Sharpen your skills and your weapons in the continuation of your adventure brought to you by Die by the Sword: Limb from Limb expansion. Now both games, including the move editor, bundled together.
Includes the original Die by The Sword and it's expansion Limb from Limb along with the move editor for both games
Revolutionary fighting mechanics that let the user freely swing his sword
Challenging gameplay with a complex damage system, maiming included
First game that allowed me to chop a leg off a pig-man, and then kil the aforementioned pigman with said leg, among other things. Excellent (if a bit weird) control system, awesome voice acting and of course, the best combat!
Haven't found anything similar to this game. Played it back in the day with a force feedback stick and when you fought an ogre you could feel the resistance of the ogre's swing in the controller. But yes, controls are a little difficult to learn.. but VSIM is the way to go and I would suggest a flight stick to use with VSIM. The hat moves your character forward, backward, left and right and then you are free to master swinging your sword in any arc with the movement of the stick while using the hat to position your shield to protect your body while fighting your foes with the main quest. The ULTIMATE to this game was playing 4 play OGRE HOCKEY in the Limb for Limb add-on and trying to knock the kobold puck in to the opponents goal while keep the opposition from tearing your limbs off or worse. Can't find any stick that compares to the original Microsoft force feed back stick but works really well with this Logitech Extreme 3D pro I picked up at MicroCenter for 30 bucks! Now.. just to remember how to program the swings and save the moves so you can just hit a button is my next step! GREAT game though if you take the time to learn. Sad the Kinect, Wii or Playstation's lame move controllers haven't come up with something better than this game by far (was hoping the Star Wars on Kinect would've been good but poorly implemented compared to this game).
I used to play it a lot back in the day. It's a challenging and fun game - however, you need to spend some time on it to appreciate it.
The game is pretty hard regardless of whether you use keyboard moves or mouse. The mouse is way more fun, but also waaaaay harder to master and may feel too tedious to use, even if you got arround using it - most of the time, especially against the more difficult enemies, you need to execute your attacks perfectly, otherwise you'll just frustrate yourself. Problem is - with the keybord you know exactly what will happen, while the mouse can and often will surprise you with movement, that you didn't plan for.
I reccomend learning the keybord first and playing arround with it and only then switching to the mouse. Otherwise, you might find the game too clunky and discouraging.
Beautiful Nostalgia, and still Great fun despite the ancient graphics :D
This game you need to get the
"Die by the Sword - Xtended v1.6.0" - Mod to get it working properly.

It's very easy to install, just extract the contents to the installation folder, and play.
It has been known to crash in on the main quest the first time it runs, but have no fear, it should play fine after a restart. It's a superb game, and even better multiplayer. Swords actually clash and fly off around all over the place, taking off other players limbs by accident sometimes, which can be hilarious, all accompanied by the Hero saying, "Bloody Hell!" :D GREAT!
"You hit like kobold!" Almost a quarter century later, I still remember this from the game and smile. No doubt, the game sucks, but it sucks with that perfect style worth experiencing, which was probably what the devs were going for... so technically the game was a bizarro World success. 11 out of 10, Spinal Tap style.
