Description
Twenty years after the events depicted in the multi-award-winning Deus Ex, the world is just beginning to recover from The Collapse. As an elite agent-in-training, you must match wits against numerous militant factions bent on violently reshaping the world to suit their own agendas. Armed with a multitude of high-tech gadgets and cyberpunk bio-mods, you are granted nearly superhuman powers. Travel the globe to uncover fiendish plots and convoluted conspiracies of world domination. Unmask the conspirators, and discover the shocking truth behind your own origins.

Deus Ex: Invisible War features the open-ended gameplay of its predecessor: use multi-tools and trickery to get past your opponents, or just turn their technology against them as you hack their turrets and computer systems. Along with bio-mods and choices that let you mould your character as you desire, take advantage of the numerous ways to customize your weaponry whether it’s to increase their rate of fire or clip capacity. Last but not least, take advantage of the various factions, such as the Omar who have the only black-market bio-mods, to further your aims.

Who should you trust? Who should you fight? Every decision you make affects the world around you. A good choice for RPG and action fans alike!

  • RPG-ish design allowing for multiple solutions to every quest, whether through stealth and treachery or all guns blazing!
  • A selection of unique biomods such as the Neural Interface that allows you to hack computers or Cloak to hide from enemies, cyberpunk style.
  • Globe-hop to real world locations such as Seattle, London, and Cairo.

Classic fps experience

If I were to tell you this was an awesome experience, you would laugh at me. I understand there is so much hate for this title but if you play something you enjoy, and enjoy what you play, you wouldn't give a crap what another reviewer rated it. This was the first deus ex I ever played when my friend let me borrow it on xbox back in 06'. That was 9th grade! I'm so glad to see it on gog it runs perfect. Even the texture mod worked, where a hundred reviews in and around google say this game gives black screens and crashes but it runs perfect on win 8.1 in my hp 15 laptop with factory intel graphics. So no problem there. Now about the story cause that's what makes a good game to me. What I understood was the main protagonist isn't even a hero he or she is just an escaped experiment that ends up wiping out the world leaders and the people who created him. I got sucked into this game at the end I was wanting more. Classic game. This would be second favorite to sc chaos theory in my book. Love the conspiracies, plot, story, twists and lore connecting the original dx. Perfect sequel.

'Tis a good game but a bad Deus Ex game.

Invisible War is an excellent, simple, action RPG title! The problem is that it followed in the footsteps of one of the most significant Immersive-Sims on the PC. Deus Ex was targetted squarely at the hard core sim PC players, complex inventory management (for the day), branching upgrade paths, seemingly endless possibilities for solving each mission. Of course, a niche game doesn't rake in the big bucks, so they genericised it, took away a load of complexity, put the game on rails with the odd siding to give the illusion of choice. Invisible War was built for a wider market, as such, it was wide but not very deep, Deus Ex focussed on a specific objective and market so was narrow but very deep. With that out of the way, this game is still fun if you remove the Deus Ex bit from the title. It is an entertaining cyberpunk stealthy action game with some RPG elements. The storyline is fairly deep if you take the time to read all of the notes lying around.

Disapointing and unappealing

I really liked and enjoyed the first Deus Ex. I will buy it here one of these days and play it again. It really is a classic GOG. But this game is not at all the same quality...as a game. In fact I disliked this game. Try as I might I could not connect with its claustrophobic world; could not like the characters I encountered; didnt enjoy or get into it at all;...so although I tried three times since it was released, I have never been able to stick it to the end.

Deus Box 2: Streamlined Edition

Ah, yes, Deus Ex : Invisible War also known as the worst Deus Ex game. Is it true? Yes. But is it so bad that you can't enjoy playing it? Nah. Just don't expect to much from a game that looks and feels like a console port. Key differences compared to Deus Ex : - small maps (some of them claustrophobic even) - loading screens every 5 minutes because you travel between small maps - small number of enemies because there is no space for them on those small maps - no skills and no experience points - ammunition is universal for all weapons - weapon stats are hidden (damage, range etc.) - you can modify weapons but each weapon has only 2 slots for a mod and once installed it cannot be removed/replaced (e.g. silencer + dmg or quicker fire + increased range) - biomod canisters are easy to acquire, you can swap your installed augmentations for others and you can do it on the fly (no med bot) as long as you have a canister to use - no hazmat suits , re-breathers, vests, gogles (no swimming and few irradiated zones) - no leaning out from around the corner - passwords for terminals and doors are automatic if you find them - hacking is a cranial biomodification now that you need to select in stead of 2 others or you wont hack at all - there are some passive augmentations that cost 0 energy to use (very good change imho) - accuracy stat is no more so shooting feels quicker (another good thing) All of the above are the gameplay differences I could remember. Some may actually be considered an improvement over the first Deus Ex, so not all is bad. The story told in IW to me feels more like a fanfic than a proper sequel. It's a mixed bag. There are some good bits like the Denton/Helios plot and some silly ones like The Orders unified religion. Overall it's a decent futuristic shooter with similar but watered down gameplay compared to other games in the series.

Solid Shooter

Not as good as the original of course but it's still a good fps. These 1 star reviews are ridiculous.
