Close but no cigar
TL;DR at bottom. Most of the people compare this game to GTA V or Witcher 3 in their reviews and I believe this is a flawed method. ------In my opinion this game is closer to Sleeping Dogs. Both are open world lite RPG games with more emphasis on story and portrayal of the world. The world of Sleeping Dogs and Cyberpunk feel static compared to the detailed and dynamic world of GTA V or the open and living world of Witcher 3. ----Sleeping Dogs has a really nice melee system with a subpar gunplay. Cyberpunk is the opposite off that. --Sleeping Dogs did not have any character customization but ability to buy more homes. Cyberpunk has some limited character customization but no option to buy more homes. Both have no vehicle customization like GTA V has. -Nothing that comes even close to GWENT or many of the filler activities you can do in GTA V. -+ Being locked into first person view can be annoying and feel clunky from time to time. +++++++The immersion in the Cyberpunk theme is done very well with various design elements such as music, clothing, night city itself, etc. +++++Nice implementation of cyber warfare and implants into the gameplay. ++++Crafting and skill tree system is really nice. ++Some of the concepts like Brain dances are nice but not used enough times in the game. Story wise the game seems to be as good as Witcher 3 so far. I believe if they could add some of the content that was supposedly cut and make some gameplay additions in possible expansions / DLC in future the game can be at a much better place. In summary, good attempt by the company but so many missed opportunities. This game is a really nice bottle of wine that you can enjoy for a nice meal but not a vintage wine like how Witcher 3 was. This may change depending on future DLC but it will be an uphill struggle as it stands. TL;DR : Good game worth the money but not the revolutionary game that was expected from CDPR.
